Hi! My name's Chrissy! :)

Post by Chrissy »

Hey, I'm Chrissy, and I'm VERY new to this site. But I do have the same kind of car everyone here has. I own a 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 4-door. I got it when I was 14 years old (last year). It has a MILLION problems, including no engine, and it's a project for me and my dad. But mostly me. I didn't really start working on it immediately after bringing it home. I mean, some sanding was done, but not all. And this summer, on the warm days, was spent sanding some more. My dad and I recently went to a car show here in downtown Centralia and there were a lot of customized classic cars. I tried to get some ideas for my corvair, but just couldn't seem imagine some of the designs I've seen to be on my car. I already know that I'm going to replace my instrument panel with a corsa instrument panel. I tells me a lot more of what's happening with my car instead of just a speedometer and a fuel gauge, even a blank gauge (that's supposed to be an unreliable clock). But everything else, interior design, door panels, body work, is kinda beyond me. So I was hoping some of you could help me by giving me some ideas on how to make a 1966 Corvair Monza 4-door not look like just an ordinary corvair. Thanks!

Chrissy Kelley.

 Hi Chrissy and welcome to the forums! I would say look at wheels to make a huge difference in your cars personality (if that's do-able at this point) and maybe a little lowering to fine tune "the look". BTW, if you've got any pics of your car, toss 'em up, and maybe that will help us give some advice on what order to do things to it.

Welcome Chrissy :)
I agree with flat6 above. Rims/tires/stance make a HUGE difference in the appearance of the car.
Look around, there a few custom Corvairs here. and a few 4 doors too. look here -> viewtopic.php?f=52&t=1067

Welcome Chrissy. Pictures of the car are good. The 4 door sport sedans have a great look when they are massaged a little. I agree, nice wheels and tires will be the best bang for the "style" buck at first. Have fun. :chevy:
