looking for a corvair mechanic in the cleveland ohio area

Hello, we are new to the forum. My son and I have a restored 62 Monza 4 door. The Corvair enthusiast that we had befriended unfortunately passed away a few years ago. We are interested in finding someone in the Cleveland area that we can contact for repair issues. If anyone can direct us that would be greatly appreciated. Attached are some snaps of our ride. A nice Corvair ---- Check if there are any local clubs to go to. Yeah many of us Corvair folks help others due to the "mechanic" shortage.

The only person close to you is Bill Richards about 50 miles south of Cleveland. Like all of us he has a backlog of work.

Jim, That is true and individuals are willing to help someone to do their own work but shops willing to do Corvair work is dwindling.

Yes and this seems to apply to most of the olds cars now. Hagerty discussed this and the need for schools to train restoration folks, but a BIG flaw in their argument is the work does NOT PAY WELL for a young person trying to build a life, except for exotic cars and higher priced collectibles like Corvettes, where repair/restoration income covers the overhead of a shop, taxes, insurance, etc. and pays talented staff well.

When I was young a few friends tried to talk me into going into the car repair business -- I looked at the pay and working conditions and that convinced me to got to college (paid my own way). I ended up with a job in a nice clean heated/air conditioned building and I made good money. Fixing my old cars is a fun hobby, but I would not do it for a full time job. Just me.
