65 Special

Post by 65 Special »

Hello everyone, new to this I am trying to get info, my Father was a mechanical engineer and I have had my 1965 Corvair since 1999 when my Dad died. This Corvair is quit unique she used to be a 4dr, now a 2door, the engine drive tran now is centre mounted, both front and back end have been modified. I am trying to sell her, however I have lost the trunk key, i have been able to purchase a blank from OPG and have the key codes from GM, the key cutting machine only goes back to 1967. Now i am stuck how to get key cut in order to sell her. I do have pictures of the Special. Thanks Peter from Ontario Canada.

Several of us on this forum cut keys for GM vehicles. Any locksmith that has been in business for years should still have the codes for 1935 to 1966. Such a need that Brigs and Stratton , now going by name of Strattetec still makes the blanks, along with Isco etc on the aftermarket side.

If you send me a PM I can price it for you. Unless sending two keys across the border in an envelope raises customs heckles.

Yes, love to see pictures on this forum. And you will have to have more than one post to be able to send PMs.

Bound to be a locksmith up there to do 35 to 66 keys. :dontknow:

On his body modifications, did he put coupe doors on the 4-door?

Different body and chassis configurations are interesting and I'd love to see some pictures too. It sounds like you need some activity here to be able to do that which is a good thing.
