completely new to Corvairs, have had a few american cars and trucks but fancied a change and have always loved the lines of a 2nd gen coupe.
im currently awaiting the arrival of my 1969 coupe.
will put up a pic when i can work out how.

Welcome to the Corvair Forum! i suspect that you will find your Corvair to be a real "Head Turner" and will attract a lot of attention as you drive it around! It appears to be in very good condition, and with those wheels and attention to detail it will definitely stand out!

There are many CORSA (Corvair Society of America) club chapters around the USA. You did not mention your location, but you may find that there is club chapter near you. CORSA clubs vary with membership participation, but generally they are helpful, family-friendly groups who organize meetings, picnics, car shows, competitions, scenic drives and technical training sessions. In comparison with websites like the Corvair Forum, the CORSA chapters are local in nature and represent "the other side of the coin" in obtaining Corvair support and guidance. Face-to-face contact with like-minded Corvair owners can be very helpful. I would suggest contacting a club chapter that is near you and inquiring about membership. You may find it adds a lot of enjoyment to Corvair ownership.



The final year of production, Corvairs stopped being produced in May 1969. During its final year of production, 6,000 cars were manufactured.

I would like to encourage you to expand on your first post and tell us more about yourself, as well as about your 1969 Corvair. Some detailed photographs of the car — including the VIN tag (driver's side door jamb) and Body Tag in the engine compartment — can be very helpful. If you can provide your personal assessment of your mechanical skills and abilities, that would help a lot. Members of the Corvair Forum love to be helpful in assisting other Corvair owners with technical support and advice, but it helps a lot if we have some understanding of your technical background and mechanical abilities, your Corvair-related knowledge, etc. Helping us to know more about you will help us to write comments to you that are tailored to your needs and experience.

Sorry about the lack of detail in my original posting.
I am in the UK and have had lots of American cars over the years, my last being a 1960 F100 truck that i Imported from Los Angeles back in 2016.
i sold that and was looking for a second Gen Corvair, as i said i always liked the lines of the 65-69 corvairs, very similar to a 67 notchback Barracuda that i owned.
the car is still in Florida waiting to be shipped, well it was until yesterday when the guy called to say the car wouldn't start, ring gear is toast,
it has a high stall converter and high torque starter fitted as requested by Tom knoblauch when he built the heads.
anyways the car isnt going anywhere soon as the seller has agreed to get it fixed before he will let it go.
car is very straight and honest lovely stance and i cant wait to get it over here.
Ive already bought 6 new clarks cylinders pistons and associated bits to rebuild the engine as it smokes a little, looking forward to the engine rebuild as ive not done a flat 6 before, normally V8's
My mechanical background is playing with anything with a spark plug since i was a teen, (now 58) i'm disciplined in mechanical and electrical engineering.
There are only a few Corvairs in the UK and this will be one of the best im sure.
