Brit 65 owner in San Jose

Post by breezerabbit »

Hey folks. I don't come to USA very often, but when I do I like to see a Corvair or two. In England I have seen maybe THREE in a lifetime! Is there any Corvair 'action' (absolutely anything qualifies) in the San Jose / Bay area this week? Working full time all week but have a free day next Saturday for exploration! Cheers All. MARK

:welcome2: Welcome to the USA!

Seth Emerson is a Corvair aficionado and accessory supplier who is based in San Jose. He is also a contact for Silicon Valley CORSA (Corvair Society of America). He might be able to point you in the right direction while you are visiting San Jose and the San Francisco Bay area. Here are the links to Seth Emerson's websites....

If you need a professional Corvair mechanic, there is one in the San Jose area who may be able to help...

I have heard that Mel Raven is semi-retired (he recently turned 70). He may also be aware of other Corvair mechanics and Corvair activities in the Bay Area. His website is still active, so if you need his services you would have to contact him to find out about his availability or if he has any references to other northern California Corvair mechanics...

Hi Brad

Thank you for your warm welcome and all the excellent contact information. Most kind! Gladly - I have this trip and then another in February - so will try to make the very best of my time. Right now - need to board flight! Many thanks once more.

Hi Brad
I did go to see Mel last time I was in Santa Clara and saw more Corvairs that day than I have seen in my entire life time! So again, thanks for the recommendation. I am back in Milpitas again, so will see what mischief I can get up to.
Cheers

Hi Mark,

We are working on doing more Corvair get together a in the Bay Area. We did one a few weeks ago on Treasure Island. Had seven Corvairs show up. We are working on one for March, but the Spring Fling is at the end of April in Roseville. This year it is going to be a four club participation. Classic Corvairs of River City, SF Bay Area Corsa, Silicon Valley Corsa and San Joaquin Valley Corsa. Hope to see you around!
