Re: Hello from England
Alton Towers is not too far from me actually.
Sadly there's not a huge amount of pottery industry left around here. The Wedgwood and Royal Doulton factory is about 3 miles from me, though a lot of their product is made in Asia now. A lot of people here though still have connections with the industry though either through family or themselves working. We also own a small house which we rent and that was built in the early 1900's as a house for pottery workers.

Here's mine - Needs a clean, dry stored since 84 in Florida. Should be Evening Orchid according to the VIN. Also have a 66 Corsa 4 speed waiting to come over, to join my other 66 Corsa.

Hey ss64ll, welcome!
Are you an Essex man (for want of a better term)?!! For some reason that building looks familiar. Just going by user name being your post code...I'm in Rayleigh, Essex.

Hi
No I'm a Hampshire Hog!
That photo was taken in Felixstowe docks, where a lot of cars come into.
User name comes from my 64 Chevy II , always wanted an SS but never got one! Hence the SS64II. The 64 Chevy II got sold to Jerry Denning who built it into HonkeyTonkin' II.
I now have a 66 Chevy II as well as the two and a half Corvairs

Now THAT is VERY cool!bbodie52 wrote:The theme park Alton Towers is in the Staffordshire Moorlands and several of the world's largest pottery manufacturers are based in Stoke-on-Trent.
When I saw your location I looked for some facts about your home. I lived in Kaiserslautern, Germany from 1980-1983 and was able to tour London and some of the surrounding area before we returned to the USA. When I saw your location and found out that some of the largest pottery manufacturers are located there, I got the idea for your Corvair Greenbrier tribute. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
