Hi All, my folks past away recently and I found a block and a set of Corvair heads. I am looking for a good home for them. The block and heads have matching numbers. 6257621 and there is another number stamped on the top of the block TI222Z.
Let me know if anyone has any interest in them and just want to say they have been in a crate since the motor was dismantled in 75. The block has both cam shaft and crank which are original and never rebuilt.

It will really help to know where you are located...
I'm thinking you transposed two numbers on the head casting. If it is 6256721 then they are from a 1960. I don't have anything that matches the number you gave.
Is there perhaps another letter after the "Z" on the engine stamp? If there is another letter, then the engine block could also be a 1960. If just a "Z", then the engine is more likely a 1963 or 1964.
The 1960 engines were unique in many ways - several changes were made after the first model year. It will be important to know if it is a 1960 engine - it will effect who would be interested in it.
Good luck!

TI222Z The suffix letter "Z" was used on low horsepower (80 hp) engines in 1960 (140 CID), in 1961-1963 (145 CID), and on 95 hp, 164 CID engines in 1964. The letter "T" identifies the engine production facility "Tonawanda", which is common to all Corvair engines. The number "1222" indicates December 22, but unfortunately does not include the production year.
The number "5607" would appear on the 1961-1963 engine crankshafts, and the number "8409" would appear on the crankshaft if it were of 1964 vintage.
5607 signifies it from an early 145 CI engine.
7293 signifies it from an early 145 CI turbo engine.
8409 signifies it's from the late 164 CI engines, regardless of HP.
Cylinder head casting number 6257621.
6256721 would match a 1960, 140 CID, 80 hp engine, if you transposed the digits "76" for "67".

I did make a mistake on the number, it is 6256711. Also I know that the year was 1960.
I will check the crank and post what I find today. Thank you.
