Alright, now that I have a few minutes to sit down and type it out...

I have sorted through the parts. I have a set of intake valves that were given to me with the rest of the motor belongings... This is where I realized I'm missing a lot of stuff. From what I looked over, on basic engine mechanical knowledge, I'm missing...
1 valve guide
6 exhaust valves
distributor cap
main bearings
exhaust manifolds
starter
baffling
and a whole lot of hardware.

The pistons look a little rough for wear, one specifically. I can feel the play in the wrist pin and the main bearings have been removed form it but the bearing seating surface looks like it took a pretty rough beating.

I began a search and a cart on Clarks Corvair and created an account. Our local Corvair restoring guru out here, Rob Anderson, is sadly getting out of the game here. He said some of the missing parts may be laying around the shop. I'll likely make another trip over to see if I can gather some of the remaining parts if they might turn up. But then I got to thinking, if I'm going to order parts, I need to know more about the chassis, engine and transmission I'm working with. I can provide any numbers/codes/specs needed. I have my hands on hopefully the majority of the vehicle and its components now so I can send pictures or whatever is needed. I know there's someone in here that can help me gather the exact specs of what I have or point me in the correct direction to learn. As of right now, information i have is...

I have 0 idea how much HP this thing made at the factory or how much it made when it was disassembled. Nor do I have any clue on how to decipher what engine it even is. If i can get ahold of the specifics on the engine and chassis, I can start the parts search. Classic cars alone are something brand new to me, so this whole thing is going to be a monster learning curve. Thank you guys so much.

ZF engine originally was used with Automatic and considered the High Performance engine from 1960 thru 1962 as a 98HP 145CID engine or 102HP 145CID in 63. It became the 110hp in '64 in 164cid. After 60+ years it could be original or any version.

Grab the head numbers (on the forward end of the drivers side head, and the back end of the passenger side head). With the head #'s, and the block Ident, we can tell you if it's a 145cid 95hp or a 164cid 110hp, provided the heads are correct. If you can get pictures of the cranks and block internals, it can be identified as a 145CID or a 164CID.

If you have the Jugs out, look for a relief (crank clearance). If they have a crank relief the jugs are most likely from a 110. You need to have the crank checked as the Displacement went from 145 to 164CID from stroking the crank.
