I'm Mike McCrae, here, retired Podiatrist. I run a small machine shop here in Lemon Grove, Calif. dedicated to "Corvairs Only".....I love the format, and plan to throw out as many pctures as I can of all the high performance and stock Buggies, Manx's and 'Vairs I've had the privelege to work with over the years. From the looks of things, there's a huge block of knowledge from all of the folks involved that can be made readily available through this forum......
Have fun all......no bickering now, ...leave that to the other forums...

Re: DrMike here
Welcome DrMike.
I had a Corvair powered dune buggy briefly up here in Alaska. Not sure what it was but it was your basic looking short wheel base buggy. It wasn't running and I installed a low milage 95 HP from a scrapped 1969.
I only drove it a few times but it scared the poop out of me. There was something amuck on the steering and it would change lanes on it's own. It crossed the center line once and I almost had a head on. I sold it before I ever checked out the steering.
Looking foreward to some pics.
My dad had a small plane up here when I was a kid in the 60s. It was just a Cessna 182 but we used to fly all over southeast Alaska in it.
