PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
March 6-7, 2015
Friday, March 6
9:00 am Kokomo Opalescent Glass Factory Tour. Meet at hotel to leave around 8:30 am.

Take a step back in time and watch their artisans create glass in many forms right before your eyes. One a daily basis art glass in sheet form is created as it has been done for 125 years. Men carry ladles of molten glass from their 12 pot furnace to the mixing table where it is masterfully mixed and sent through one of 19 textured rollers and into an annealing oven. You’ll see it come out of the oven and the finished sheets packed and ready to ship across the world. Glassblowers will mesmerize you with their creativity in hand forming one of the many items they produce ranging from production pieces to custom one of a kind works of art.
Cost is $5.00. Due to open flame gas furnaces, no oxygen tanks are allowed on the tour, but are permitted in the gift shop area. Closed toe shoes only. The factory has no climate control, so you will need to dress for the weather. There will be a sign up sheet in the host hotel lobby on Thursday night. Please RSVP by March 1 so the factory can be prepared for our group.
