Re: 1964 Monza Sedan

Nice find! That's going to be a sweet grocery-getter, and it's a huge plus that it's been stored indoors for so long. I'll bet she just purrrs.

Re: Engine Gasket Sealant Recommendations

My go-to sealant of choice is the Permatex ultra black silicone sealer, applied extremely thinly.

I remember the tiger tails and the Gulf no-nox horseshoes.

Re: Carburetor problem need help

From my experience, popping under acceleration tends to point towards (at least momentary) leanness. Are you getting a nice steady shot of fuel from your accelerator pump while opening the throttle?.......equal to the left carb? You might also check for vacuum leaks at the base gaskets and hose ends...

Re: Pro charger??

I'd definitely go with some quality forged pistons, good rods and a turbo distributor with the boost retard (unless you have a little extra money for an electronic boost retard ignition box). There's other things too....like fuel injection, depending on how deep your pockets are.

That looks like a full-blown SCORE!! I'm actually glad I didn't find it.....I would've been compelled to buy it and then have 6. 😱

Re: Does anyone know this person?

I also have had positive dealings with him. He rebuilt my turbo for my new engine and then rebuilt it again ☹️. (after my new motor spit some valve guide pieces up into it ). I drove down to his house in the morning and he rebuilt my turbo while me and my wife had breakfast! Was ready by noon. I pre...

I also did a custom gauge face for the speedo.
Are those LEDs you used for lighting, Scott? Looks very bright!

Re: turbo boost exhaust leak

Give it a test drive! I've never heard much of a turbo whistle on my corsa turbo when under hard acceleration, but have made boost (slightly past the first small line on the "+" side).

By the looks of that car, I was guessing "Alabama" but your profile says you're in Ohio. Welcome! Heck, if there's not too many rusty areas on that car, that looks like a nice score actually! I'll bet it will look 5 times better with just an aggressive wash job (I use Comet!)

Welcome and congrats on the corvair corsa! Love it! Do you know the original colors? I'd love to see more pics, if you've got them.

I see your username mentions miata....did you happen to see that corsa/miata race on YouTube?

Re: Smokin' Deals!

I was thinking......just imagine how cool and easy for anyone who bought a nice LM rolling chassis to switch over all parts and get it finished, and with all the correct factory fasteners! It seems I've seen SO MANY stripped down bare corvairs out there for sale over the years (hardtop and convertib...
