Woo Hoo! If I may make a suggestion, do not hammer directly on the metal, but use a "stake" of some variety to direct the force. It is MUCH easier to assure a correct strike that way. Just my .02

how about an exception to the "2 digits and a letter" for the date code?
Note the additional date stamp in the middle of the tag... I guess they were still sorting this stuff out.
