Re: PICTURES OF YOUR WHEELS
Yes, it is darker but I really prefer your color, looks very good to me and your wheels are a great match. Very nice car. I loved the pearl orange on the 65. When I painted it in 2000 the orange pearls were just entering the automotive market. I started or was at the beginning of a trend:) There ar...

Re: Thinking about buying a Corvair
Hmmm, I do not think Corvairs take particularly large amount of maintenance, except the engines should be kept cleaner than their water cooled cousins. Corvairs require about the same maintenance as any 50 or more year old car. If it has been well maintained an kept in proper repair it will not take...

I sure hope a burgundy car is darker red than my 2000ish Chrysler Tangerine Pearl one above:)

Re: Fuel Line Insulation
The rest of the smog stuff...pump etc. appear to be removed. Blocked return should cause no issues. Wonder if you still have smog exhaust manifolds on it? If it was mine and they were on there and smog was not I would change them out for less restrictive non- smog exhaust manifolds. Seem the pump wa...

Re: Fuel Line Insulation
Can not tell from this thread that the car is a 69 unless I missed it somewhere it is not stated. Been working on these for 30 years and have never seen a return line on anything except a turbo. If fact I have only ever worked on one car here in the east that had any smog stuff on it and most was de...

Re: Fuel Line Insulation
Problem Solved! Disconecting the fuel pump return line did the trick. Of course this was after replacing lots of parts, ok, she doesn't quit after 10 minutes (or less) anymore... I'm happy. Fuel pump return line???? Never seen anything like that. Where does it go what does it hook too? Fuel pump ha...

Re: '62 Corvair seems to turn over hard
I am happy to report that my corvair is starting and running well. Evidently the distributor was turned at some point, throwing the timing way off, which I've been told makes the engine not turn over as easy. I did have to play with the fuel pump and it took a bit to get the fuel running to the car...

Re: '62 Corvair seems to turn over hard
Are you sure the battery is good and strong? A week battery can cause these symptoms. Not just 12V but load tests ok as well?

Re: Good choice?
You should go look at the Vair. Perhaps it is an awesome car. If so it is likely worth the asking price. You just can not tell much from pictures particularly small ones. They also never seem to show you the areas you really need to see. Early coupe (non turbo) sale prices very rarely exceed 20k and...

Re: Hello, Guidance Please
4 doors are hard to sell and generally command very low money. That said you can get one hell of a nice Corvair 4 door for not much moola. Around here a car that looks like the one above that does not run and drive would be a $500-700 item TOPS. Most people here would want to pay under $500 for it a...

Re: Good choice?
If it runs and drives perfect and looks better than it does in the photos it might be a good buy at the listed price. If your vette is only worth about $4,500-5,000 and the above is true then it might be a very good trade. I am guessing from looking at the somewhat limited photos that the car is per...

Re: Rotisserie
Yeah I angled the front bar on the late I picked up that way as well. Using the suspension mounting spot is rock solid you can climb in the car if you want and hurt nothing. No problem with the body bouncing down the road on the rotator on top of a rollback either (transport is I think where the min...

Re: Sheet metal....FYI
@ terribleted....I've read numerous comment both from people that said they had no problems with Clark's panels and those that said they had. It would seem to me that it's running about 50/50 meaning you stand an even chance of getting good panels. And Clark's response to me was "the tooling i...
