Yep, insulation is on the list. It may be a while until I can afford to buy the materials however!

Re: New guy from PA first Corvair
My wife and I would love to attend next year, just let us know. You can use a magnesium fan, but it has to be from a 64' if I'm not mistaken. The 65 up fan has a different size hub so it won't bolt onto your engine's top cover. As for the dual master cylinder, you aren't really missing out on much t...

Put some 63 tail lights on, 63 tail lights are best tail lights! =D
Just to clarify, all I'm actually saying is I personally love the look of 63 tail light lenses. Oh, and the 63 glove box/radio/dash trim is my favorite pattern. I'd say 63 is just straight up my favorite EM interior.

Beautiful work, I look forward to seeing the finished product. Awesome that you are using that Porsche transaxle.

Re: New guy from PA first Corvair
Thanks for joining us! Quite a few new people from my neck of the woods the past couple weeks. I'm located in Gouldsboro PA. Black on red is my favorite combo for early model 'vairs (we Corvair nuts call 60-64's Early Models, and 65-69's Late Models). You are going to love owning a Corvair, unbeliev...

Re: 62 Convertible bad floors (for sale?)
We drive Corvairs here daily, year round in the Northeast rust belt, so most of my projects are not intended to be show cars, just nice drivers. The problem with this car is that I have too many other higher priority project cars. I've decided his one has to go. I'll probably put a couple of days of...

62 Convertible bad floors (for sale?)
Hi guys, I'm trying to decide what to do with a 1962 convertible I have here. The car needs floors which I normally don't get involved in. The worst part of the floors is under the rear seat, on the passenger side you could almost drop a football through it right under where the heat vent is. The ca...

Re: Newest Vair Family addition!!!!
Correct Brad, I determined the same thing when we saw the engine room for the first time. The only thing is it appears to be a 63 80hp rather than a 102. The block code (Z) can be any year from 60 to 64 (if it's a 64 it's 95hp) but based on the same indicators you pointed out I decided it is probabl...

Re: INFO ABOUT TAIL LIGHT OF CORVAIR '64
Holy smokes Brad, you are thorough! That is a neat trick using the reverse light wiring to deal with the need to separate the stop lights and turn signals without having to run all new wiring.

Re: Corvair Underground Ripoff
This topic always makes me sad. I find it really strange that Lon often seems to be a reasonable and helpful person on VV, but the sheer number of these kind of reports certainly leaves no doubt that there are big problems with his company. I find it impossible to believe that all of these problems ...

Wow, this is the hardest COTM vote decision I can remember... fantastic cars folks! I'm going to have to hold off on voting until I have more time to look through them!

I think the average age of CorvairForum members is considerably younger than the average of all Corvair nuts =)

Re: any pc gamers here on the forum?
I wasn't going to say anything, but I've sworn off SLI/Crossfire completely now. In the early days of multi-GPU setups I got interested and then after reading all the troubles people were having on forums I just decided to not get involved. Maybe a year and a half ago now I finally let some internet...

Re: any pc gamers here on the forum?
My last console was Sega Genesis too =) I played WoW about 6-7 months per year from early vanilla until mid cataclysm... I finally quit for good. Ted that is a hell of a nice rig, I just have one Nvidia 670 and a 2nd gen Core-i5. I was running three 28" monitors with games stretched across all ...
