Re: Thunderstorms= sweet animated GIF's!
This is storm video I took in 2008 when three thunderstorms converged and stalled over Phoenix. The lightning seen in the video was nearly continuous like that for over an hour. There were so many rolling thunder claps that all of the noise combined into one long loud background roar that never let ...

The tilt works simply by weight distribution. Should be a nice setup.UNSAFE wrote: I'm not really sure how the tilt works on this one . It's not hydraulic. I did opt for a spare tire . I 'm picking it up in Tacoma .

No fuel problem solved
The engine wouldn't even sputter on a re-start attempt. Knowing I had plenty of fuel but an old pump I just pushed it the last bit to the house. After it cooled off several hours I took a quick look and it appears that I do have fuel getting to the carb so now I am not sure what is up. Turns out th...

Re:
Nice job Dave. That thing is lookin' GREAT! Thanks! Got a lot of miles on her this weekend (close to 150). Went to two cruise-ins on Friday night and two on Saturday night. I had a blast with it. Main comments heard by people checking it out was "Oh my God!" or "Sweet Jesus!". M...

Woo Hoo on the V8! I'll shoot you a PM here soon and let you know. I know my wife has some family coming in on that friday, so that COULD interfere if I need to get them from the airport. -Kevin This gathering is still on the schedule so anyone in the Phoenix area who wants to kill a Friday evening...

. Note to self...try to learn more about rebuilding 45 year old TH425 FWD automatic transmissions. Somewhere in the complicated process of rebuilding the transmission I must have got a valve stuck or a seal flipped or a check valve not seating. I got the V8 out on the street last weekend and immedia...

Re: Phoenix Metro Area Corvair Owners
I will stay as long as I know you are coming out. I think a few others may still be there too.
PM me if you don't have my cell number and maybe we'll see you a week from tomorrow?
I "might" be in the V8 next week. Short drive tests around the neighborhood will start after lunch today!

Re: Phoenix Metro Area Corvair Owners
Wish me and Joe'd could go. I already have plans for tonight, and I don't think Joe'd is ready to roll that far yet. -Kevin Had a nice meeting last night with homemade cupcakes for treats and plans to go to a car show on Friday the 13th. The highlight of the evening for me was after the meeting hel...

Re: BEWARE of Corvair Underground
So to the point of this thread...did Vair-8 send you full payment for rear disc brake kit that was only partially shipped?
I have edited out comments in posts that don't come from first person experiences with CU. I will not edit any Vair-8 comments since this is his thread.

Re: Toro Corvair Project Thread azdave
It roars! This weekend saw a lot of progress on the project. I began stripping out all of the old wiring along with a million zip-tys and questionable splices. It's amazing how confusing wiring can get after a car has been through multiple owners over many years. My goal was to simplify the engine w...

Re: BEWARE of Corvair Underground
You and I have discussed Corvair Underground problems several times and I'm really sorry that you still don't have the parts to complete the brakes on the V8. I told myself I would never order from Lon again (after having some issues on two other orders) but when he announced a one-time group buy sp...

Re: Toro Corvair Project Thread azdave
This weekend I got the rear motor mount welded permanently and also bead blasted the tranny covers and re-intalled them with new gaskets. Easter picnics and working to get another vehicle to pass state emissions regulations took most of my play time.

Re: Build Log for Joe'd our 1965 Corvair Corsa 140
Looks like my dad will be driving out tomorrow to help me deal with the fuel leak, which in turn will allow me to actually park the car in the garage, which will in turn allow me to be able to pull the windshield/interior/etc for rust inspection =). (re-ordered) Things that need to be done: -Fuel l...
