I have used Rafi, Clark’s and California Corvair. Clark’s usually has little better pricing, but California Corvair is fairly close to Hemet, and parts are usually delivered in one day.

Re: Can I adjust rear hood up and down?
Looked in Clark’s and did not see them. Just looked in Original Parts Group catalog, on page 84. Suspension alignment shims can work. May have to wiggle around a little bit.

Re: Can I adjust rear hood up and down?
There are shims available to move the hinge up or down which in turn adjusts the hood height.
Clark’s or other suppliers. Not really expensive.

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump
There is supposed to be a short shaft with a return spring attached.
Check Clark’s catalog. Probably will show the part.

Re: Window fuzzies
The fuzzies from OPG are the correct thickness. I had Clark’s but did not fit properly, and were too thin.
The OPG fuzzies work good.

Re: 4 wheel alignment in Hemet?
Jim Smith, manager at Allen Tire on Florida Street in Hemet does excellent work.
Also have used the Firestone store on Florida street in Hemet.
They also do good work.

Re: Padded Dash
Clarks makes a really nice padded dash. I really think it is worthwhile waiting.
The dash pad is not really easy to remove or install and does take quite a bit of work.
You could start the process with the disassembly, and order a dash.

Let us know your compression results. A leak down test may also be needed to confirm the problem.

Re: Generator Questions
Voltage at the battery terminals should be 12.9. to. 14.4. The closer to 14.4 the better.
If less, generator is not producing.

Re: Timing procedure 64, 110
Remove the hose to the vacuum advance. Adjust the timing. Then reattach the hose. With the engine running, move the throttle and watch the vacuum advance to make sure it moves the timing. Sometimes the vacuum advance does not work. This test will confirm.

Re: Engine dies 4 barrel carb
Way too large a carburetor! I suggest replacing it with a carburetor somewhere around the 200 cfm mark. Higher velocity thru the ports will make the car run a lot better.

Re: 65 corsa
Along with the carburetor rebuild, consider dropping the fuel tank and have it cleaned. Fuel sitting for years generally becomes contaminated and will cause the fresh carburetors to also be contaminated. Pulling the tank is not really an easy project, but once out, many local radiator shops and do a...
