Re: ever have your Corvair mistaken for something else?

LoL yesterday I actually had someone tell my that I was wrong, and that my car was a Camaro. He had to be shown the engine to change his mind. Litterally he said "That's not a corvair, Corvairs are ugly, *that's* a Camaro ." I was dumbfounded. A guy actually accused me, the OWNER of the ca...

Re: Hold on to your lugnuts its tiiiime for an overhaul!

Nice. Took her around the block. Runs SO much better now. I really needed to adjust the valves. We found a load of problems when we put it back together, A bad carb shaft that was *killing* idol stability, really really loose rockers on the other side of the engine, an oil leak and a few other thing...

It lives! I ran it for a bit today, backed it out. (wow, those tires in the front will DEFINITELY have to be changed with lower profile ones.) Woot! Oh, and danny installed all of his new weatherstripping on his car this weekend too. All new seals and fuzzies. The lucky bastard. I want mine done too...

Re: Hold on to your lugnuts its tiiiime for an overhaul!

So close. Put it all back together today. worked from 8 this morning till just now. Got it all done, adjusted and turned the key for the first time since last summer. ... And forgot that the battery would be dead. LOL. Oh well. the accelerator pumps need to soak in fuel anyway. It will roll under it...

Re: 4 wheel disks going on today!

4 wheel disks are DONE! He actually drove it today. It stops very well. It was tested with the stock master cylinder to see if it even stops at all, and he reported that its stops incredibly well this way. Interestingly, without a proportioning valve, it locked up the rear brakes first, which was un...

Re: Blower bearing hub removal.

I bought just the bearing. I'd assumed it came with the hub pressed on. No worries though. I'll get it done. =)

Blower bearing hub removal.

I just got my head and blower bearing back from LeVair, (those guys are awesome. seriously.) I've separated the hub and bearing from the housing, which was cake with the help of a little heat, but now im confused. I've got the old, bad bearing with a hub still attached. Im sure i can just press the ...

Re: Mike J's 65 Corsa project - in limbo due to lazyness

I have a friend running magnesium wheels for a new vette on his 68 camaro. Just like BMW wheels, the bolt circle is so close you can hardly tell. Last week he hit a pothole in the bay area, and sheared 3 wheel studs right off! A hubcentric ring would have prevented that. Take a micrometer, and measu...

Re: New wheels done. Rolled her outside for some sun.

Looks very nice Tony. I know what you mean about the tires not looking that wide in a photo. Mine are 10" + yet don't look like anything special on the car. Your doing pretty good man. HEY I know, since you have to wait for your head to come back ... you could swing by and help me figure out a...

Re: Mike J's 65 Corsa project - in limbo due to lazyness

Looks fantastic Mike. I like the gold inserts in the wheels. (I'd like body matched brown too, honestly)
But it looks and fits awesome! Did you use any hubcentric rings when you bolted those up? I had to on mine. 70.3 mm to 73mm
