Oil Cooler Seals
I replaced the oil cooler seals on my 65 corsa and they appear to be failing again. I used the vitron seals from Clarks. Has anyone tried the Fel Pro seals part number fpg 72655 or the Altrom atm021117151. Both are from NAPA?

Re: Car Quest/Advance Auto Fan Belt
I made a mistake in the part number for the belt. The belt I bought is 15560. It seems to run fine and I will try it for a while. It is guaranteed for 3 years so we will see what happens. Thanks for the help. Larry

Car Quest/Advance Auto Fan Belt
I purchased a top cog fan belt 15475 for my 65 Corsa. I hadn't seen these before and was wondering how they worked or if anyone has tried them before. On line they show a price of $12.39. I paid just over $20.00 and will be contacting the store. It seems logical a belt that would flex on the top wou...

Re: Fuel Water Filter
I am using a Moeller water separator on my 56 mercury. I would like to get the one with the clear base that can be drained but did not want to spend the $50.00. Thanks for the response. Larry

Fuel Water Filter
I have a 65 Corsa and am installing a marine style water filter as the car sits for a couple of weeks at a time. I use shell premium gas and it collects water after 2 to 3 weeks. Has anyone done this and what were the results? I have a 56 mercury and have put one on it and it seems to work well. I a...

Re: Windshield Replacement
I live in Grand Junction Co so I am not close any shops that have experience with Corvairs. I expected to have to remove the old glass first and clean, repair and repaint the windshield frame. There seems to be a number of ways to seal the windshield. I expected to purchase a new seal from Clarks. B...

Windshield Replacement
I have a 65 Corsa convertible and need to replace the windshield. Prices range from about $400.00 to $200.00 at Rock Auto. Is there a difference in quality? Are the ones for $200.00 a factory second? If anyone has used one of the cheaper units please let me know any good.
Thanks Larry

Watch route 66 on Hulu if you want to see corvairs on TV. Chevrolet sponsored the show and there a lot of early 60's cars.

Upper Shroud removal
I have a 65 Corsa and am thinking of removing the upper shroud to insure it is clean and oil free. I have read some posts on this process and read section 6 of the shop manual describing how to remove the shroud. The directions indicate the carbs are to be removed with the linkage attached. Is remov...

Cowl Removal
I have a 65 Corsa and need to remove the Cowl to paint under it. This is the area at the base of rear window ( in my case a convertible) where the air gets to the motor. Has any one removed this part to clean or paint under it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Larry
