Re: Spark Problem in #1
I have checked everything listed above with no definite results. The advance plate is bad but does not seem to be grounding. This would affect all the cylinders. I have not seen any damage to wiring. Inside the distributor. I have been planning on replacing the distributor and coil with a stinger un...

Re: Spark Problem in #1
Stock ignition. 12 volts at positive coil terminal with jumper wire installed. All the other wires have good spark going thru the resistor wire or using the jumper wire. #1 gets a real weak as soon as the engine starts and sometimes no spark at all. I used one of those spark checkers with the clear ...

Spark Problem in #1
I have a 65 Corsa that began missing. It is getting a good spark when the starter is running but does not have spark when the engine starts. I run a wire from the battery to the positive side of the coil and the same thing happens. I could not see anything wrong with the distributor or cap and the #...

Stinger Distributor
I am in the process of installing a Stinger Distributor in my 65 Corsa. I have purchased the linkage adapter for the carburetor and in the process of install 12 volts to the coil. Stinger Distributor
I have 65 Corsa and am looking at replacing the distributor. Apparently I need a the secondary pivot bracket off a 66 4 carb engine. What exactly does the different 66 secondary pivot bracket do? Does it raise the linkage so it does not interfere. Does it set the linkage father back? I would appreci...

Re: Pro Series Distributor
I ran the car today with the vacuum advance off the distributor and the vacuum line plugged. It had very little surging and ran better at higher rpm's. It appears as if I need to replace the distributor and will probably go with the stinger unit based on the last post by brodie52. There is a lot of ...

Re: Pro Series Distributor
The plate on the distributor moves easily when the engine is not running. The vacuum canister seems to work well but can't move the plate when suck on it or when the engine sucks on it while connected to the plate. I will continue checking to find the problem. The canister is relatively new. The pla...

Re: Pro Series Distributor
I was able to check my distributor plate today. I could not get it to move while sucking on the vacuum line. I hooked the vacuum line up and increased engine speed and there was no movement. The vacuum at the increased speed was about 12 to 13 pounds. Elevation is 4500 where I live. I pried the vacu...

Re: Pro Series Distributor
The stinger distributor requires a electronic box outside the the distributor. The pro series does not require an external box. I am thinking about replacing the plate in the distributor but would need to check the distributor to see that it is in good shape. I find it unusual that a distributor wou...
