Re: misfire
Right carb flooding, needle valve not shutting off the fuel flow, adjust the float. Do a hot valve adjust on # 6 & see if you can get some more compression. There are Youtube video's to hot adjust the valves. Make sure the fuel pump is correctly installed, if it's not in correct it can click &am...

Re: Gasoline
Only change I made running 87 is the timing. I said I have it at 14 advance. If i'm running 16 advance I get a little spark at 70 mph so I backed it off to 14 & no spark knock.

Re: Gasoline
But there is more pep in my 110 with 91. My owners manual says use high octane but the 87 runs good & unless i'm racing i'll leave it with 87 octane. At 75 years & 6 months old I don't think i'll be racing unless I see a Falcon on the road.

Re: No spark, 65 Monza 2.7
Did you hold the end of the spark plug wire to be sure it wasn't getting spark?

Re: Gas in oil
Start it up & let it run long enough to get good & hot, if there is gas or water in the oil it will evaporate. you need to put some miles on it after all you said it has set for some time. I've seen engines that have set for a year & they didn't have enough compression to even start with...

Re: Gasoline
I run 87 octane in my 110 & have no problems, timing at 14BTDC. No spark knock at any speed hills or no hills. I have ran 91 octane & do notice a little more power but not enough to worry about so i'll keep using the cheap gas. Runs great & saves money & i'm cheap.

Re: 64 corvair stalls/ sputters out
If the tank is empty remove the sending unit & see what's in the bottom of the tank. If there us a lot of gunk you can stick your finger in and feel it plus it will be on the sending unit.

Re: STUCK VALVE COVER
Don't, just grind it off flat. If you try to remove it you might end up with more trouble than you want.

Re: STUCK VALVE COVER
DO NOT USE ANY SILICONE . Use a thin 4 & 1/2 inch metal cutting blade & just cut the insert off that's sticking out.

Re: STUCK VALVE COVER
4 &1/2 grinder and carefully smooth it off, removing only the inserts. Scrape all the crap off the heads & covers & use new cork gaskets only. As long as you have them off it's time for a new paint job.
