Re: 1965-1969 Corvair of the Year 2016

Scott - don't Sweat it! But, I must admit that this restart has done nothing to reduce my (and likely, other's) anxiety!

I appreciate all that you do for the Corvair Community!

My best and Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: VOTE! - 1965-1969 Corvair of the Year 2016

Chris, I love the story where your daughter asks you to park away from the school when you pick her up... Not that you embarrass her, but she does not like all the attention that cool Corsa gets! It is not enough that you have multiple Corvairs, that your daughter is jealous of, or that you live in ...

Re: Testing Temp Gauge, 64 Spyder

Good luck with your project!

Re: Steering wheel play ?

There are two standard columns used in the 65 - the early one is a continuous shaft from the gear to the steering wheel, the 2nd design continued into 66. If you have a Coupling in the shaft outboard of the fuel tank, forward of the fuel filler pipe, you have the later design... coupling.JPG I know ...

VOTE! - 1965-1969 Corvair of the Year 2016

Well, Chris Rogers and I seem to have quite a horse race going for Late COTY... Yesterday I was ahead by one, now Chris is ahead... I wanted to prompt all of you to swing on by and make a choice - If you can't vote for me - then at least VOTE! Good luck, and my best to all the contestants! Nice cars...

Too funny - I totally missed that in the auction posting - and wanted to, in the kindest way, teach you if you thought it was a Corsica!

Re: Woo Hoo - another Auction!

Joe B - the Corvair model is a Corsa, the Corsica is an 80's Chevy!

50 Years in Service...

50 years ago today my Corsa was delivered in LA to an owner in the Mission Bay area of San Diego.

Then, two years ago today I purchased the car from the 2nd owner in Yuma AZ.

So, tonight I took her out and tried to get some good photos. 50 years in Service, today...

Re: New Owner from Michigan

The resistance of the wire is not how the TACH is calibrated. See http://www.corvairforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=9564 Do you have a stand-alone TACH/Dwell meter? This will let you know if the dash is off... Is your car a factory or "Tribute" Corsa? The non-Corsa vehicles did no...

Re: New Owner from Michigan

I had removed my mechanical pump and installed an electric pump up by the tank. Therefore my fuel lines run forward from the carbs and Tee at the left front of the engine compartment. I have gotten brake lines from both O'Reilly's and NAPA and the NAPA units bent SOOO much easier - the O'Reilly's ki...

Re: New Owner from Michigan

Welcome and you did not say where in Michigan - I am in West Bloomfield and work in Warren. A few of the best things you can do is 1) read the forum, cover to cover! 2) join CORSA and 3) if you are in the Detroit area join DACC... I am approaching 2 years with my Corsa - and through the DACC I have ...

SteveH - you would have cleaned my clock had you put the 'Field Find' up instead of the new one! I didn't even realize as you were trying to get it done before your HOA towed it away last fall that it wasn't a runner... I hope you are enjoying "Red" and the driving of Corvairs - you have e...
