Re: Custom throttle Linkage by Roger Parent
Just one question that is not related to the throttle linkage. How do you attach an oil pressure gauge sending unit to the top of your oil filter mount? Is it a special hollow threaded bolt? I had planned on adding an oil pressure gauge, and I'm interested in that mounting technique. :dontknow: Cla...

The exhaust is a "Big Dual" from Matt Nall that's no longer in production. It's 2-1/2" and the mufflers are Hedman turbos.bbodie52 wrote:
I had never seen a crossover balance tube exhaust setup like that before. Is that a commercial product or your own design?

:goodpost: :coolphotos: Soooo... where is the car now? Once you got all of the bugs ironed out, how did it hold up? ::-): It's been sitting in my garage since 1972 and has 25K miles on it. Paint has been stripped and primed, and undercarriage has been sandblasted and painted -- all about 1973. The ...

Re: Built quality Corvair Model 1969
The story of my '69 startedd when, after my wife having owned a '65 for almost years, I talked her into letting me order her a brand new '69. The ‘65 was sold to my youngest brother who had just turned sixteen. The new ‘69 was Lemans blue with light group, positraction, deluxe belts, rear window def...

Re: Built quality Corvair Model 1969
I have heard a few things about the last "handmade" ´69 Corvairs. How is the qualitiy of these cars? Better or worse of the ´65 - ´68? Any experience? The build quality on my '69 that I ordered new was terrible. It was one of the "hand-built" cars and has a lot of seldom-ordered...

I guess that is the nature of communicating via the Internet and these Forum sites. The communication is by its nature "one-way" with nothing like the immediate feedback you might get from a face-to-face conversation. I guess by trying to "second guess" or anticipate knowledge g...

Re: Lat model floor replacement
Nice clean pan install Dave. Hardly ever see one done fully welded and spot welded like they should be. Thanks! Since the floor pans are a key part of the car's structure, they need to be fully welded. While I had the car completely stripped, media blasted, and on a rotisserie, I considered running...

Re: Lat model floor replacement
I used Clark's floor pans and they were near perfect. I did bend the outside edge (the one that attaches to the rocker panel) downwards so it fit like the original. My rockers were in perfect shape. I did have to fabricate a piece for the left toeboard. Floor pans ready for welding.jpg IMG_1958s.jpg

Re: Interior panels??
what type of paint did you use on your block, heads and exhaust Dave? The engine castings and cylinder jugs were media blasted by the engine builder (Gary Funkhouser), but I don't know the media type. Exhaust logs and exhaust pipes paint were high-temp paints from Eastwood (I can look up the exact ...

Re: Interior panels??
Perhaps you have already seen the custom 1965 Corvair Monza interior created by Jeff Lilly Restorations in San Antonio, Texas, but I believe that this is one of the best interior designs I've ever seen in a Corvair. It is certainly a model worth considering when you design your Corvair's interior. ...

Clark's sells the bare cardboard panels so you can make your own or have your favorite upholstery shop make a set for you.
