Re: Picking up a 66 Corsa Convertible on Friday

I had possession of all three cars for less than a week but did manage to get this shot. Delivered 55 Chevy to the shipper last Thursday so it is on its way to Sweden. MG will be on the market soon and the Corvair will be my sole Classic. Everything I’ve touched on the Corvair so far is in great sha...

Re: Greetings

As a new owner that is also reconnecting with Corvairs, hi! My first car was a Corvair 4 door Monza with a 4 speed transmission. I drove the heck out of it for 4 years and then went down a traditional car route (a couple of 67 Chevelles, a 55 Chevy and many more from a variety of manufacturers). I n...

Re: 1969 Corvair

Hey guys, First time posting on here, owned my corvair for about 2 years now. I've been teaching my 15 year old daughter how to work on cars with it... of course now she wants it when she turns 16! I'll eventually post a question or two on here (been fighting oil leaks) even after changing the push...

Big shout out to Clark's Corvair Parts!

Just purchased a 66 Corvair Corsa and placed my first order with Clark's. My experience so far is outstanding. A Clark's employee was obviously working my order within 5 or 6 business hours after I placed it. They notified me that one of the parts I ordered was out of stock but on order and expected...

Re: Emergency brake brackets on early model

Do a search for GM Distributor wrench, there are a bunch of different wrenches with a 90 degree bend at the end. Just picked up my Corvair so haven’t been in that area yet to judge clearance you have. Haven’t been under a Corvair in 42 years or so but expect that will be changing.

Re: Points Replacement Modules

I'm most comfortable with Pertronix since I've installed them a couple of times before. I understand the issue with a Ignitor II and Powerglide but my car is a 4 speed manual so I shouldn't have that issue. What I like about the Ignitor II is the protection if the ignition accidentally gets left on...

Re: Corsa Clock Replacement

I should have pointed out that I can reset my trip odometer it is just fairly hard to move the knob to get it to reset. I checked the screws that are mentioned and I think I will pull the dash out before spring and clean and lubricate the odometer reset. I'm probably going to go for the quartz movem...

Re: Picking up a 66 Corsa Convertible on Friday

It has taken me a while to figure out the whole posting pictures thing but here goes. These were actually taken by the seller but are very recent. It is raining here today so not a good day for outdoor pictures. Intend to get some of this with the 55 before that car leaves the stable.

Points Replacement Modules

How many owners are running points replacement modules, like Pertronix, in their Corvairs? I promised myself years ago I'd try not to deal with points if I could get away with that and have run pertronix in my 2 previous classics with only 1 issue (which admittedly required the car being towed home....

Corsa Clock Replacement

How hard is it to get the dash out of a 66 Corsa? I'd like to get the clock working and the trip odometer reset "linkage" could use some lubricating. Could someone tell me the likelihood of getting the clock working again in a car that is in excellent condition, appears to have been garage...

Re: Picking up a 66 Corsa Convertible on Friday

Drove the Corsa a little over a 100 miles to get it home yesterday but looks like I’ll have to wait until 12/21 to register it. I don’t even want to start on NJ DMV / MVC and the flat out wrong information on their web site. Car ran great and I can see I’m going to have a lot of fun with it. A few m...

I have been debating changing to Rally wheels on my Corsa, your photo leans me more in that direction.

Re: New member, NJ; First Corvair, '65

Took delivery today, straight to my mechanic to look it over and see what's what. I haven't worked on any car in nearly 30 years but am looking forward to getting my hands dirty with this one. Anyone familiar with registering an old car in NJ? I'm not looking for the historic angle, I'm planning to...

Picking up a 66 Corsa Convertible on Friday

I have been active with classic cars for a little over 10 years now and in the process of really shaking up my inventory. In the process of selling my 1955 Chevy 210 4 Dr with its original rebuilt 265 SBC and Powerglide transmission and will shortly be selling a 79 MGB roadster. To replace those 2 c...
