The dissolve it took some of the glue. Ended up buying wire wheels form Ace and grinding off the rest of the glue.
I had a pint of paint so bought a Preval paint sprayer and repainted. I think it came out pretty nice.
Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Re: Early engine hood weather-strip pictures
I going to go the less aggressive route to remove it before going more aggressive.
Fortunately the previous owner had some paint left over.
I have a feeling I'm going to be repainting.

Re: Early engine hood weather-strip pictures
Thanks for the pictures and comments.
Now that I know I have to remove it does anyone have tips on how to get the adhesive off.
Using dissolve it now.
Don't want to have to repaint.
Anybody have something that they thinks works?
Thanks again one and for the help

I have been trying to locate pictures of the engine hood weather-strip for an 1963. Can't seem to find much. Previous owner of my 63 put weather-striping al the way around the body. I was told that is not correct. Does anyone out there have a picture or diagram of weather-strip location? Thanks for ...

Re: Tires for an Early Corvair
Had my new tires mounted, balance and installed today.
Cleaned and polished the wire wheels and added spinners from Clarks.
I'm very happy with how they turned out.

Re: Mystery wire wheels
The plot thickens a little.
I'm pulling the wheels off to clean and polish for new tires.
Noticed on the inside of rim that they were made in Brazil.
Had the name Borlem NE stamped on them with the number 4180
Also had 29 - 06 over 86. Thinking that is mfg date.

Re: Tires for an Early Corvair
I decided to order the P185/80R13 Maxxis MA-1 90S from Performance Plus tire.
I want the right size tire on the car and it seems everyone that has the Maxxis is happy with them.

Re: Tires for an Early Corvair
Thanks for the explanation of load ratings.
I contacted SimpleTire to see if they would price match and they are not any more.
Performance Plus tire has them for $109 so may end up purchasing there.
Going to wait till Black Friday and see if someone drops price.

Tires for an Early Corvair
My local Corvair mechanic has told me I need to replace my 12 plus year old tires. I been looking online for P185/80R13 Maxxis MA-1 90S WW White Wall Tire. So far I have found them at Amazon for $125.00 and Performance Plus Tire for $109. Both have free shipping. Will most likely purchase from Perfo...

Think 112 recharges will enough?
I'm amazed no one has seen this wheel anywhere.

Re: Mystery wire wheels
I think I saw a wheel like that at the swap meet today.
Swap meet is in Canton, OH at the fairgrounds.
May be a bit to far from your location.

Re: Mystery wire wheels
I went to a local swap meet this morning. Looking for those wheels.
It was a fairly large outdoor/ indoor meet. Did not see anything even close to my wheels.

Thanks, I'm thinking about putting the spinners from Clarks on them. Just have to figure out the mounting.
