Boot between filler kneck and gas tank

Am I being lazy? But you got to be kidding me? If I am reading the service manual correctly I have to drop the tank to replace this boot. Or is there another way? When i fill the tank all the way up i smell gas and sometimes if I can afford to fill it all the way up some is leaking out so I asume it...

Re: Help Help Thermostat issue

Once again problem solved. As i reported the passenger bank was flodding something terribly and all night before tearing into the issue i had dreams of burned valves that didn't seat correctly because of one reason or another and broken piston rings and on and on the engine-I was going to find-was r...

Re: Help Help Thermostat issue

I balanced the carbs recently and everything went well. I will try the adjustment though...just to see. The engine doesn't have that many miles I wouldn't think they would need rebuilding at this time but maybe...

Re: Help Help Thermostat issue

That is an interesting theory. You may just be right. What would cause this and how do I go about detecting the problem?

Re: Help Help Thermostat issue

the answer to my question is to drive the hell out of the car. It finally opened. For the sake of learning about corbvairs....is it safe to assume the passenger side bank doesnt get as hot as the drivers side? Because I believe the service manual and Brad when they say that a malfunctioning thermost...

Re: Tricks for repairing leaky powglide cable

case closed. It was the governor oring after all. That is one bugger to detect and to repair for a novice like me. Not one drop comming out after I replaced the oring. That oil snaked down and around to the front of the tranny fluid pan and had all indications of being from the pan. but I cleaned th...
