Re: Parked on small grade and smoked
Thanks a bunch. Always helpful. It runs great but it just started this. I drove it today and it didn't do it. So i will take a closer look and let you know. I will check the compression though readings i notice can be all over the map. I think it is the nature of the aluminum engine.

How did you get the old rubber boot out? how did install the new boot? and how did you tighten the clamps? i can't get my hands in there to do jack s**t (from the well or from the bottom either). Its really har...

Re: My '65 Monza PG Vert Undergoing Concours Resto
Man i think of all that oil cooling stuff the extra oil pan wors huh? I even thought about an external oil cooler but..... anyway on my Harley especially the older ones I would take my shirt off and get it wet and put it on the primary case and the bottom end of the engine on long hot desert rides. ...

Re: Parked on small grade and smoked
Ok so I won't worry. But Kev-UNSAFE really.....why would you want to say failing valve seat or guide? with a 140 my biggest fear are the valve seats, (don' freak me out its Sunday) I figure if it never overheats they will never pop out or what ever they do.........But yeah she is really running good...

Hey Dennis. She sher is a beut! I like those colors also. I am glad you get to do what you want to do. Can you go up a hill in July-say to kingman or something with the air on without it overheating. i used to pull a big hill outside of Tucson with my 64' 110 and the light would come on but I would ...

Parked on small grade and smoked
i parked on a small grade at my girl friends house with the rear end slightly down hill and the right bank smoked a little for about three miles. I was just wondering if this is a normal occurance. The reason i asked is A) I am always paranoid and B) I am a firm believer if the oil is changed regula...

Re: 64 Spyder clone
Yeah. This project sounds cool. I lost my dad a couple of years ago and i wish he were still around to help me with my Corvair. When they came out he said most mechanics shied away from them but he was a motorcycle guy so i guess he took to the air cooled nature of them and became quite good around ...

Re: Very Interesting Story but Ultimately a tranny conversio
Sam your great. You shouldn't have left. I am (as always) getting some great feedback. I am straying away from the Manual conversion and thinking these guys haven't seen the car yet. If i restore it. It will be a big BIG!!! Job. I don't know if I am up to it, frankly. But I have to say parting it ou...

Re: Very Interesting Story but Ultimately a tranny conversio
yeah that's what i thought might as well leave the auto in mine and pray over it. Honestly this find was religeous. Its dirty as heck and the body has that surface rust all over it. the oil smells like nothing I have ever smelled but its all there. There's no title. It sure is a fun find. I am stoke...
