so Just a quick update... I received 2 Deluxe carb rebuild kits from Clarks along with the carb book mentioned earlier - Which was a fantastic suggestion thank you! And by reading it thoroughly I have discovered that I have one 1964 carburetor and one 1963 carburetor on my 1964 Corvair! It is the 19...

So 2 things... I'm assuming the gasket that comes without the hole is for early models then? Which if that is the case that is what I have... The 2nd thing is this idea that was brought up about staking the screws... Do you know if Clark's sends instructions about that? And/or how exactly do you do ...

Ha! Good question! I purchased this car just about a year ago now and that is how it came when I got it... It also came without the lower shrouds or working rear exhaust doors or a working heater... Now because I knew so little about these cars when I purchased it and the fun of purchasing it was be...

There is the slightest of wiggles when I grab the throttle lever and try to move it back and forth... when I do the same thing on the other carb, it is solid with zero movement... would that wiggle be enough to let fuel seep? And if so, what is the fix? Is there a way just to tighten this one up or ...

Ok... so the last few times I've taken the car out and I lift the hood after, there is this wet area just behind the driver side carb... see photo...it isn't severe and will dry up on its own... it clearly is not oil, it does not smell like gas and it does not appear to be wet anywhere on the carb o...

Thank you Brad... great info... I was wondering if I should be using both sealant AND anti-seize on the end bolts and just anti-seize on the side bolts. And Wow! That bottle has lasted you a long, long time!

oh I get what he was saying now...! Thank you I was misinterpreting what he was saying, but I understand now and since it seems my top cover is leaking in both the front and rear, I will plan on adding some sealer on the bolts before I install them... do you have a preferred sealant?
