Re: Mystery wire - under dash. 65 Corsa
Yes the red wire is spliced into grey wire. So it’s some sort of lighting. There is also another wire coming off it running to a another light socket. Someone cut a port above the radio which I’m guessing they would use for a modern stereo. Looking at the wiring I wonder if the PO was looking to put...

Mystery wire - under dash. 65 Corsa
Since I have the dash apart I figured it was a good time to clean up the wiring. For the most part the under dash harness is in good shape. I only have to WTF areas. I think I figured out the one but the second one has me stumped. Problem 2 - there is a grey wire coming off the harness and it goes t...

Worked on the dash this weekend. New wrinkle paint, polished the lenses, and added LEDs.

16” rally wheels brand recommendation
I read about your experience ordering from WV and 6 months totally sucks. That's why I was wondering what other vendors were out there.
I am taking your suggestion of going 7” all around.

16” rally wheels brand recommendation
After digging through all the wheel size posts out there I've settled on picking up a set of 16” rally wheels. 16x7 front and 16x8 in the back. I've seen two LM corvairs with 16x8 front and back so maybe that size. My question to the group is what brand do you prefer? When looking at rally wheels. S...

Re: Chasing oil leaks
Exactly. So I cleaned the area and then was able to see that the oil was coming down from that location. Pulled the cooler and realized I did the seals wrong.

Re: Chasing oil leaks
That's a great idea intact I got a new pressure washer for Christmas that I've been itchen to tryout.
As far as where it is coming out. I can see oil in the left side of the skid plate and it seems to be only coming from that side.

Re: Chasing oil leaks
The small one coming from the area of the rear seal. It's a small but consistent drop from the left side of the motor. I replaced the oil cooler seals when I did the rest but I think I over tightened the bolt.

Re: Chasing oil leaks
Replaced the valve cover gasket with a cork gasket and a thin layer of #2 gasket sealer.
Still have the issue up front and the more I think about it I think I might have crushed the oil cooler gaskets. I'll re-do them too.

Nice! Please send pics! I love vintage boards! I know it’s not polite to hijack a thread and this is slightly OT but here you go. ‘57 Velzy/Jacob’s 10-2 balsa board @holyroller I keep looking at your artwork on the Lakewood. It turned out fantastic. IMG_3138.JPG IMG_3136.JPG Sent from my iPhone usi...

Re: Chasing oil leaks
Pulled the valve covers and checked everything. Studs did not push through so the oil seeping was from the valve covers. I’ll be replacing them with cork. As for the extra oil towards the back.....that’s where the oil comes back into the motor from the turbo. <—- total dummy moment. Sent from my iPh...

I’m also chasing down two bolts on the oil pan. Fingers crossed I can get both solved.
