Nice man cave addition! How about some oil streaks on the wall under the 'Vair for a more authentic experience?

Re: Electric Corvair ---
Old school conversions were often a B-29 48VDC DC starter motor and a dozen or so car batteries switched via contactor into various series-parallel arrangements. Spooky sparky!

Re: Electric Corvair ---
I own a 2014 Nissan Leaf EV and my '67 Corvair. My two favorite cars I've ever owned. The Leaf is the perfect short-range car. Dirt cheap (now worth ~$6K) and drives great. 50K miles, so max range is down to ~75 miles now. Wife still has a gasser for long trips. My Leaf was in a mild fender bender l...

Re: $68 Autozone Alternator
That's good news, mine came from Amazon in 2020 with the right fan. I got the very last 7107 from BBB enterprises for $52 flat, no core return. Pre Covid prices.

Autozone and Amazon show different fans in their pics. Who's right?

Hopefully the parts didn't survive 64 years only to be taken out in shipping. I guess that $25 shipping fee went to the lowest bidder, Dingbat Express.

$68 Autozone Alternator
It's always nice to find a cheap Corvair part at your FLAPS or at their online store. Last year, Autozone.com listed a Corvair alternator but would not ship it to my home or local store in Cali. Just for fun I checked their website tonight and now they will ship to my home. I no longer need it but s...

Re: Silent Cam Gear
I'm still running the same 2304 cam & gear (GM, IIRC) I bought from Clarks 40 years ago. Low miles, cam still measured good when I tore down the engine last year.

Re: Question about using a tow bar
Awesome news, welcome home! As a poor student I towed my '67 Monza 140 4-speed home from college in 1981 when it broke a cast piston. 500 miles using a rented towbar, pulling it with Dad's '66 Plymouth Fury wagon through the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. Prayed that both bumpers would stay on. W...

Re: Silent Cam Gear
Those broken gear pics are hard to look at. The secondary damage may have included the crank, cam, pistons, pushrods, valves, crank gear & case. OUCH!
