Adjust carefully and don't overtighten the adjuster as you tighten the locknut, they tend to rotate together. With bearings and steering boxes, looser is better than tighter.

Re: Steering box..
My steering box is working fine, I never touched it until today. I snugged the adjuster up lightly about a half turn, very careful not to go too far/tight. Made quite a difference. I also checked the output shaft for bushing wear, nothing much to talk about. Finally there is something on my old rust...

Re: BARN FIND 1967 CORVAIR = make an offer
Jeez, I get JEALOUS seeing these old cars in such amazing shape. Nearly all of these barn finds and some parts donor cars in Motohead's videos are in better shape than the '67 Monza rustbucket I'm working on. Better paint. Less rust. Original, stock, complete. Convertible. Corsa. Turbo... But I stil...

Re: 65 Corvair Monza sway bar bushings
My twin girls are 10, and not much into "Dad's Timesink" right now. But that's prolly because it's not rolling yet. 2 months away likely. But every now and then one comes out to help, so I'm hopeful.

Corvair Engine Animation
Nicely done even if a bit long and redundant at 15 minutes.

Re: 65 Corvair Monza sway bar bushings
The previous owner of my car drilled & tapped a hole for the sender/sensor in the bottom of the crankcase, facing rearward. Works fine, standard hole I have replaced with a newer sender & gauge. You could do it with the engine in the car but you'd need to lower the rear engine mount and remo...

Re: 65 Corvair Monza sway bar bushings
Adding an oil temp gauge (water temp gauges work too) is a helpful add-on, as is an oil pressure gauge. I have both, and I'm adding a vacuum gauge & voltmeter to my underdash bezel.

Re: 65 Corvair Monza sway bar bushings
Leave the sheet metal, it's required for airflow and to let the thermostatic doors regulate temperature, and direct hot air rearward away from the car. Oil filters... probably not is stock at your local parts store but they can order it for you. Pep Boys got me some. Battery cables (to the starter) ...

Re: Clark’s AM/FM
That's a nice retro style radio, plrgpr! I just put a BT radio headset in my 67 and I committed the Cardinal sin of cutting out the two knob supports. That dash steel was thick and tough to cut with a nibbling tool! It's amazing to have Bluetooth control in an old car like this. Handfree phone, Siri...

Re: AM radio issue
That's a neat old radio, LinuxLieutenant! I have restored several old tube-type radios & TVs but not automotive types. Definitely replace all old paper caps. Per Corvair500, there is a voltage step-up circuit which would have a transformer. A great project for another day. Def don't trash that r...

Re: Down the Tube (motor oil filler)
Does rubber melt at ~240F? Oil temp can get high. Easy enough to remove the oil pan to get it out.
