Re: Smokin' Deals!
Not sure if this qualifies as a smokin deal, but these cars are headed for the scrap yard if some Corvair lover in the area doesn't rescue them... http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4697527565.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);...

Re: Weighting the options of a new project
Howdy, Here is an update after a few years, my father in law passed away last year. His health deteriorated for a while. My mother in law has kept the corvair in the garage, sometimes pushing it in and out to clean and what not. She is now selling her house and trying to figure out what to do with t...

Re: Weighting the options of a new project
I know that he is not going to fix the corvair. I know how much he paid for it but based on my first post description, how much would you pay for it?. I would like to make him a fair offer and see how long it takes until the mother in law will sell it to me :P

Re: Weighting the options of a new project
Well... after talking to the in-law he said he won't sell the car to me. He wants to fix it himself (he's had it for over a year in the garage and has not done a thing to it. Re: Weighting the options of a new project
Thanks a lot for the hints and info. I am not a mechanic but this should be a fun project to learn since the engine seems pretty simple. I will try to buy it from the in-law and take it with me to NC. I need to figure out how to take it down there since it will not start... I like the quick ...

Re: Weighting the options of a new project
Thank you for the reply. It is a 1964 Monza, my father in law has not eve looked that much into trying to get it up and running. Is there a prefered place to buy the parts to at least try t oget it started? He believes that the previous owner didn't start it for years so it may need to get the gas t...

Weighting the options of a new project
I am new to corvairs. My father in law bought this one at an auction from a guy that used to have 9 Corvairs stored in a hangar. After he died the family decided to sell them. My in-law bought this one for 600 bucks. I can see only a little bit of rust by one of the doors. The floor seems to be in p...
