Re: Happy New Year!
Thanks!! Put about 1,000 miles on it in a year, drove it out to Clarks. Prior to that, I did have to replace the pushrod seals. They were hard as a rock and crumbling.

Re: Sagging door
The car has spent most of its life in BC and then no winters in Ontario (stored), so no road salt. Bottom of car is rock solid. I inspected the hinges and noted no sag or unwanted movement - appeared to operate same as other front door. However I did discover the problem. The front door glass is st...

1965 Monza vert
Picked this up last Sept. 1965 Monza Convertible, 110, PG with a unique history. And currently just under 64,000 miles. Originally Glacier Gray, black top and the rare gray interior, it is now Mist Blue with a white top still sporting the original interior. Color change done by the previous owner. I...

Re: Putting my convertible on jacks
Lifted/raised mine many times with the top up with no issues. I agree, if the top rips, there is some serious structural issues. I work in a shop, have raised other convertibles on two post lifts with no issue also.

Re: to tow or not to tow
I always load backward just for my own comfort. Unless it's a convertible, than it goes on forward. I tried to rent a trailer once from U-Haul. They were trying to get me to rent one of their trucks to tow with. Anyway, I ended up borrowing a friends trailer, loaded and old convertible with no top o...

Re: Insurance
most if not all collector car companies are going to require a locked building of sorts. Years ago i had moved to a house without a garage, my coverage got dropped. I ended up with standard car insurance until I got a garage. Now with Hagerty.

Re: Lower ball joints
I did that. That's how I found the in and out play. As I said, I had my oldest move the wheel after I found the play. No/minimum up and down. You can physically see the knuckle move in and the lower control arm stay in place. It's visibly in the lower ball joint. Upper bal joint good. Tie rods good....

Lower ball joints
I installed new lower ball joints about 9 years ago, and have only about 20,000 miles on them. Granted, it is a bit of time. This seems to be unusually fast for them to wear out. I jacked the front up last night and had my oldest shake the wheel for me. Side to side (in and out) play in both lowers....

Re: I Fought YouTube -- and Won ! Corvair Video
nice!!
I had a vid up of my son, Micheal Jackson was playing in the background (radio). Didn't even think about it. Got a warning from the record company that if I didn't take it down, a lawsuit was to follow.
