Nope, you should be good. Are you removing the complete power pack (engine & trans)? You should as now's the time to clean and check things over. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find.

No help from me on the turbo removal (sorry)

Sounds like you had a real mess there. Do you think the oil got diluted with gas from the flooding? 110-120 compression while lower than the rest is still alright. I would consider changing the oil and only filling the crankcase to the add line on the dip stick or 1/2 way between add & fill.

Congrats on your first drive :burnout: For shifting the 4 speed - after mine is warmed up I wind it out more so than a modern car - holding the rpms up higher even if it's an easy acceleration. Corvair's are not luggers- for an example with my rear end ratio/tire size I keep it in third cruising 35m...

The converter will drain after sitting a while. You should check the fluid when hot while the car is in idle. Not sure what the fix is but I have seen this issue discussed several times before.

Those are in nice condition too
