Re: 63 Monza rough running/stalling
I have told you about myself twice so far. Once the first time you asked me and once in the introduction. If I somehow through psychic powers knew what was wrong, I would have fixed it already. I was just iooking for a few comments to based on previous experience of owners. I know what to look for ...

63 Monza rough running/stalling
Took the car about 2 miles to the coffee shop. When I came out it started normally but then started to run rough. I could keep it running by pumping it but it would eventually quit. Tried this several times. It was like fuel starvation, but I know I have gas.

Hello from new owner
I have asked a few mechanical questions so far and have received a lot of help. As way of introduction, I’m located on LI NY. I’m retired and have joined CORSA. I own a 1966 Corvette and a 1968 Corvette. In my youth (1968-1970) I owned a 1966 Corsa Convertible, 140 HP.

Re: Engine Cases with Different Numbers
The T0203RA I believe is the engine assembly stamp. T is for Tonawanda plant, 02 is February and 03 is the third day. RA is a code for engine options which are unknown to me. There should be a VIN derivative somewhere that would indicate the year, being the model year.

FWIW, my 63 has amber parking lens which are marked “Guide HF I-60” on each lens.corvair500 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 10:58 am Could it be a 1960 ? The bucket has HFI-60 stamped into it .

Re: Glass code question
Thanks guys. One of the reasons I’m enjoying my Corvair so much is exactly that. It’s not a Corvette. I’m not into the judging stuff and all that numbers matching stuff.

Glass code question
I recently acquired a nice 63 Convertible. The build date is 12B which I believe is the second week of December (1962). Most of the glass including the windshield is coded CI which is November 1962.

Re: Ticking sound. Rear wheel 1963 vert
Jeff,
Yes. Applying the brakes does not change the sound. I can even hear it when the car is rolling in neutral with the engine off. It’s definitely coming from the left rear.
Front bearings are a lot easier to get to. When we pulled the wheels to check the brakes we cleaned and repacked the ...

Re: Ticking sound. Rear wheel 1963 vert
Brad,
I have all the shop manuals and the CORSA tips ring binder. After the initial reading I was wonder if the universal joints could be the issue. I have the shop that works on my Corvettes lined up to look at it but once again I’d like to be educated on the subject so I can tell if they ...

Thanks for that detailed response.
This 1963 Monza Convertible is a nice driver, not a concourse car. It is silver blue with a white top and a blue interior. Back in the day, 1964 or so we owned a 60 four door Corvair. In 1965 my father bought a new Monza Convertible. In 1968 when I got out ...

Ticking sound. Rear wheel 1963 vert
Hi All
Recently purchased a 1963 Monza Convertible with auto trans. There is a clicking sound from the left rear wheel which I suspect is a wheel bearing. At least in other cars it would be my first choice but since I’m new to this world ( my last Corvair was sold in 1970 and it was a 66) I’d like ...
