Re: Clark’s Clock Conversion Kit
Brad, thanks for the advice. As usual, you’ve been most helpful. I don’t think it’s a battery problem as the engine cranks over normally no matter how long it’s been setting. Also, I don’t think it is a ground problem as all other guages and dash/idiot lights works perfectly. I’ll be checking voltag...

Clark’s Clock Conversion Kit
Installed Clark’s Quartz Conversion Kit in my 66 (Corsa clone) worked fine for two months, then started to quit anywhere after a couple of hours to a few days after the car was parked. Noticed that if I hooked up the battery tender to the car immediately after parking the car, the clock never quit. ...

Re: Quartz Clock Conversion
You’re correct Brad. I wonder how many of those GM/Borg clocks lasted more than a year

Quartz Clock Conversion
Just did the Corsa quartz clock conversion kit from Clark’s. Went OK. However, wanted to mention a couple of things that the instructions should have mentioned. First, the instructions said to use the red gear and pinion. The red ones would not work in my application. The pinion on the minute wheel ...

Re: Dash Cluster Removal
Will do, thanks Ted. It appeared that that would be a good short cut, but all too often, I’ve taken the short cut only to do damage to something unforeseen without having the big picture. Never hurts to get advice from I those with knowledge and experience that’s been there done that!

Dash Cluster Removal
Hey all. I need to pull the Corsa instrument cluster/dash to do the quartz clock conversion. The service manual says I need to remove steering wheel and mast jacket to accomplish this. For all you who have pulled the instrument cluster, is all that necessary? My original thought was to just remove t...

Spark Plug Thread Repair Inserts
Has anyone used the Lisle #65060 spark plug inserts on their Corvair. I need to know what the outside thread size is. My car has an insert and when changing plugs the insert came out with the plug and is stuck on the plug. I checked the OD and it measures .650 OD and TPI are either 20 or 1.25 metric...

Re: Windshield Washers
Thanks all for your responses. Found that everything seemed to be working as it should, so I took it apart and found that the diaphragm was totally destroyed. I ordered a new pump from Clark’s ($112😱) as the diaphragm alone is not available. Saw that some folks bought a diaphragm from a vintage Corv...

Windshield Washers
Windshield washers do not work (wipers work fine). No sound or movement at the washer motor. Is it the switch or the motor……..what’s the best way to check it out?
