Re: Vent window wreather strip

Ted, you are absolutely correct. Bought the strips awhile back. When you mentioned that they came with the fasteners, I looked harder and found them. Metal clips at the top are not used huh. And, no, I missed spoke. They are not vent window seals but door to pillar seals. Thanks once again for your ...

Vent window wreather strip

Who has installed the weather seals on a LM convertible vent window. The small metal hold down at the top does not seem to fit the new seal. Does the seal or strip need to be trimmed and I assume it’s glued in??? What about the other plastic push pins that hold it in at the bottom? The seals weather...

Re: Pertronix install fitment.

Vairguy. I’m confused. My car, 66 140, has the 1162A installed along with the Petronix 1.5 ohm coil, #40011, and apparently, it was installed years ago. You said that I should have a coil of 3 ohm min, yet I have had no problems at all?????

Re: Bad Fuel Pump???

Thanks Ted & Brad. The chokes are hooked up and work great. The car had been sitting for 10 days. I cranked on it a bunch, being careful to not crank more than 10 seconds or so at a time. It had been sitting for six months when I got back from Florida this spring and it started right up with only a ...

Bad Fuel Pump???

My 66 140 has run perfectly for the two years I’ve owned it. Today, I put the top down to go for a ride, hit the key it started and died. Would not start after that. Pulled the air cleaner and pumped the throttles, no gas visible squirted into the carb. Pulled the supply line from the pump to the ca...

Re: Ballast Resistor Wire

OK, I’m still a bit confused, but here is what I believe y’all are saying. My car has the red wire going directly to the positive side of the coil from the distributor. As I understand, all that’s said here, is that this incorrect. The red wire should be spliced into the 20 B/P wire prior to the mai...

Re: Ballast Resistor Wire

66vairguy, see photos. My car definitely hast the electronic ignition installed. This is apparently what I have installed on my 66 140 4-sp. I say apparently as I’ve had the car for only 1 1/2 yrs and these boxes, with the OEM parts inside came with an assortment of parts along with the car. Brad in...

Rear Window Zipper

Got back from a ride yesterday and a top corner of the rear window was hanging in the well, zipper is now completely shot. The top is absolutely like new. I see as the only option to replace the zipper is remove the top. I’m assuming a lot of expense involved with that. I’m thinking of getting a lar...
