Re: Gasket where filler neck goes through wheel well

Thank you. I had already reviewed the pictures in the shop manual. It just seems like an odd hole to leave open.

Gasket where filler neck goes through wheel well

The gas tank on my car was replaced before I bought it. It seems to me there should be some sort of seal where the filler neck goes through the left front wheel well. I asked the nice girl at Clarks and looked through the catalog. So far, no one knows what I am talking about.

Was there ever ...

Re: My 1960 500

It went great, an endless stream of fun and exciting memories. We had a convoy of 5 old Triumphs and lost one of them (not pictured) at 4500ft up in the Swiss Alps. We had fixed the cooling system 3 times and thought we had it licked but it started overheating during the climb. With no place to pull ...

Re: My 1960 500

I was just in Rowlands Castle and Portsmouth this summer. Nice area, far enough away from London.
I picked up this old Triumph and then drove it all over the UK and through 10 countries on the continent.
Congratulations on a great Corvair and a lovely family.

Re: What is this rubber strip under my hood?

So they made the channel and didn't fill it. Interesting. That explains why the channel is clean. Saves me some work.

The 6 Things I Found Under My Carpet

My car's musty carpet was stinking up the garage so it was time to put on the hazmat suit and see what's under there.
I got some pleasant surprises.

1. A huge aftermarket accelerator pedal
2. A vintage Craftsman tape measure
3. A toy Howitzer from a bygone age
4. A 1974 quarter (plain old ...

Thanks. I failed reading comprehension today. It must have been the mixed fonts!

What is this rubber strip under my hood?

I am replacing the standard weatherstrip around the engine compartment but the lid has the remnants of a rubber seal with a wire core. I can't find it in Clark's catalog or any mention on the forum.

What is it?
Where can I get one?

Thanks!

Re: Repairing front stabilizer bar outer mount

The lower control arms are not rusty, that is Alabama red clay. I haven't had a chance to pressure wash since I found it.

I did consider swapping the control arm and I might do that or just fabricate a better perch. Those look like a marginal design.

Repairing front stabilizer bar outer mount

'64 Monza 2 door
As you can see in these pictures, the left side lower perch for the stabilizer bar is broken off. What is the best strategy to repair? Does anyone have these tabs that I can weld on or will I need to fabricate something?

Re: New member with '64 Monza. And a little help.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I am gathering up this week's Clark's order so I'll add those to it.

I see you are in Dahlonega. I live in Cumming so we're practically neighbors. I hope to see your beautiful car one of these days. That is just about the perfect combination of everything on ...

New member with '64 Monza. And a little help.

Greetings. My first car was a '67 Monza 110 auto and I've always had some nostalgia for it. Many years later (and recently) this barn-find '64 Monza 95 4spd followed me home.

My '67 was in great shape so I just maintained it. The '64 is being ...
