This is the hole and shaft I’m talking about. It’s on the cover not base. It is not the choke shaft. I believe it operates the fuel pump.

Dumb question? How tight does the pump shaft need to be in the bore? Mine is pretty sloppy IMO. And there isn’t a lot to play with to put in a 1/4” bushing. Is there a fix? Arm for choke was also hitting vacuum’s rod.

Is there supposed to be a gasket on either side of the carb insulator?
