Re: 12 plate Oil cooler bolt size
Thanks Brad, you always come through... I've got the shop manual, I just didn't know where to find the info... I see it now. Many thanks... I guess I'll just have to take these books to bed and go through every inch...(which I've done) I'm new to this, so I sometimes have difficulty recalling where ...

12 plate Oil cooler bolt size
Hey all, Got a silly question I’m replacing my torn up 12 plate oil cooler with a new used one. My old one had the bracket shaved off that connects to the engine housing , And I’m trying to figure out what size bolt to put in ,it’s the one on the left hand side, not the one next to the seals. I look...

Re: Replacing distributor vacuum advance
Thanks ever so much for the quick reply, so the screws that hold in the vacuum advance module are located underneath the distributor? Hence the fact that they drop out. I used a mirror but couldn’t see much underneath.

Replacing distributor vacuum advance
All, Another "newbie" question... My distributor vacuum advance module is hosed... (literally, put a hose on it and sucked... no resistance). Should have a replacement soon... the question is... do I have to remove the distributor to replace ? I pulled the cap, pulled the rotor (man that w...

Re: Any socket grounding tricks ?
All, I figured out a simple cheap Jerry rigged solution. I wrap some single strand copper wire around the socket ground flange and then Fold it back to make contact with the canister or ground. Dirt cheap, Jerry rig yeah.

Re: Any socket grounding tricks ?
Thanks for the tip on the 18 gauge hole, I'll definitely take advantage of that... as far as not mentioning "dash", I was referring to all the socket types... My engine harness is new, and still has grounding issues (just a bad design in my opinion) so the 18 gauge jumper will help... and ...

Re: Any socket grounding tricks ?
So you're just confirming what I've already found out (thanks by the way)... this issues even happens with "new" sockets... and it's really a pain with the Corsa dash... you can't check it till it back in... it's just a bad design (sorry GM)... I'm going to experiment with some "jerry...

Any socket grounding tricks ?
All, As I'm sure you all know Corvairs have grounding issues... (lights)... The typical plastic light socket need to ground via the metal socket ground on the end of the sockets (usually via compression to the body)... What I'm running into is since these "sockets" are 50+ years old, there...
