Re: Hilarious Corvair classified ad
Boy was that ad easy to find. ::-): Shhhhh!!! Camaro and Mustang's handle comparably (note I did not say equally, but I don't feel there is a huge difference). Roughly equal weight distribution and solid axle rear wheel drive. I autocrossed my 94 Z-28 once and I wouldn't want my Corvairs to handle ...

Hilarious Corvair classified ad
I nearly fell off the couch when I ran across this one, I laughed so hard my eyes teared up! 1962 Monza Coupe- "The suspension has been extensively modified to correct the inherent design problem with over steering. Car now corners and drives like a Camaro"!!! I won't link the actual ad, n...

Re: VOTE FOR CORVAIR OF THE MONTH JUNE 2013
Come on EM people, you aren't gonna let a late win this are you? :neener: I'm a late guy as evidenced by my two Corsa coupes (66 140 hot rod and 65 180 project), but currently own more earlies than lates! I have to admit the earlies are growing on me more and more. I'm excited to get one of my early...

Re: ENTER CORVAIR OF THE MONTH FOR JUNE 2013
I'm entering this one for Missy this month =) This has been Missy's daily driver for over three years now. We originally bought it for $350 after it sat in a barnyard for 28 years. Missy had nothing to drive at the time so we got it on the road in about six weeks!

Re: *Vote* Corvair of the Month April 2013
Freedo I think your second picture really captures the Corvair cruise night experience. A 350Z on one side and a BMW? on the other, and the Corvair is the one that gets all the attention! I'm sorry to hear about your 500, but glad that you got back into the Corvair scene right away! What exactly hap...

Re: 64 corvair
While you're cleaning fins, are the lower shrouds off? I would highly recommend shining a light from below and checking out the fins on the heads. These cars are notorious for having casting flash in the fins. I've seen some so bad the fins were closed off completely in some areas! So now would be ...

Re: 64 corvair
A 500 model is a bit of a rare car, and that appears to be the original 500 model interior in good shape which is VERY rare. This doesn't mean it's worth more money really, but many Corvair guys will be excited to see it! A little anecdote, the 60-64 500's are the only Corvair coupes that have fixed...

Re: Left over holes on engine lid/hood?
One of those dealer tags will only add value of it is from a famous dealership such as Yenko or Dana Chevrolet. I heard a year or two back that the "Dana Chevrolet" license plate surrounds (chrome) in nice shape go for over a grand!

Re: new young guy geting into older cars
Welcome to CorvairForum! We are always happy to see younger folks joining the Corvair community. I myself am 33 and that qualifies as a kid when you are talking Corvairs! Corvairs are a ton of fun, it costs a fortune to make them really fast in a straight line but they are a blast to drive and will ...

Grymm's return (hopefully)
Hi guys, as some of you know I've been absent most of the last year because things got a little crazy and I had no time. I am trying to finally get back into frequenting this forum and virtual vairs so hopefully you guys will be hearing from me more. The problem is that I feel compelled to type long...
