Re: ignition switch

Yes it works just like it should. The sales man from auto shop thinks one of the diodes is bad or leaking back through. I forget to mention that the alternator has a built in regulator. So thanks to you all, back on the road again. TOM

I placed a older aftermarket cruse unit in my 65 corvair. The unit was hooked to the dist. and the unit set to 6cyl. Had to extend the wires up to the dash from the engine compartment. Warning, do not place the unit anywhere near the coil or spark plug wires, and do not use wire spark plug wires. I ...

Re: Coils

Hi all, the upgrade is done. Electronic distributor, new 45K volt coil, new heavy plug wires (still don't to touch them, I did, not smart) and reset the plugs to .040. Starts right up, no miss and restarts great. Now for the test drive. Thanks to all of for the great help. TOM

Re: Coils

Hello all, got the new electronic distributor installed. Ran a wire from the ignition switch for a full 12 volts and bypass the res. wire. Re-gaped the plugs to 40. I picked up a coil from a local parts store. It is a Blaster 2, primary resistance .7, secondary resistance 4.5K, output voltage 45,000...

Re: Coils

The coil in the car says, use with external resister and the coil I have in hand says 12 volt used without resister. With the ignition switch on I have 6.04 volts (stand corrected on my 12volt comment) with the points closed. Removing the wire from the coil I have 12.43 volts. Would this sound about...

I'm running a non resister coil. The voltage to the coil is 12Volt. Should I run a coil with a built in resister or just leave the I have now? Could the non resister coil cause a little misfire? TOM
