Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
Thanks for the post. I will check the ground tomorrow again even using a different cable to make sure it is not internally broken.

Fuel Gauge Issue
My fuel gauge suddenly is not showing the correct level(shows much less) of fuel in my tank. First I thought it might be the gauge but I did the test where you disconnect the wire from the petrol tank sending unit and the gauge went to max/full. I also connected that wire to the body which means now...

Re: Regulator Question
Sorry for the delayed response but I was caught up in work over the weekend Does the voltage at the ARM terminal match the voltage at the A terminal of the generator? Yes is does Check cutout relay closing voltage by slowly increasing generator speed and noting the voltage at which the relay closes....

Re: Regulator Question
Well, that means the field excitation part of the voltage regulator is working. The points not closing are the cutout points. These open the circuit between the battery and the armature so the armature windings do not drain the battery when the engine is off. Thanks that makes sense Check cutout re...

Regulator Question
It looks like that my regulator (64,spyder) is not charging my battery when the rpm is going up. I get the right voltage at the gen terminal at the regulator. When the rpm goes up the voltage is between 13-14.5v at the gen terminal, which would indicate that the generator is working correctly. But a...

That is fantastic. Exactly what I needed. Thank you very much. Not sure why I couldn't find this post in the forum although I did use the search functionality extensively

Oil Leveling holes between transmission/diff on a 64 Spyder
It seems that my oil between the transmission and the differential is not getting equalised. My diff oil level was very low and too much oil in the transmission. For me it seems that the oil gets back to the transmission from the diff but is not equalising to the diff. Before I remove the engine+tra...

Spark Plugs for 64 Spyder
I currently use NGK B6HS 7534 spark plugs and I need to replace them. It seems I can't get them in OZ only found B6HS 4510 ones.
Are there any other spark plugs (different brand) I could use for my spyder ?

My Spyder (1964) is about to land in OZ
Salve As most of the members in this forum I fell in love with the 1st generation Corvair Spyder. I was hunting around a bit and learned heaps through forum, articles, other fans etc. So finally I purchased one and I hopefully it will arrive in OZ in the next few weeks sound and safe. It is not my f...
