Re: Battery Problems

bandaid go to the local auto patrs store and get one of those green knob battery disconnects. the kind that mounts to the negative battery post and the negative cable mounts to that. this will allow you to quickly and easily disconnect the battery so you do not ruin your new battery when not testing...

Re: Engine cuts out at 3 grand

Found the problem! I disassembled the distributor. the little dab of grease on the advance weights must have been too much. it was all gummed up and the weights were sticking. i cleaned up the weight "SYSTEM" and installed a set of NOS springs that i had. this should have not caused the pr...

I was trying to think of what is unique about running the engine up through the gears that could cause a di...

Re: LM drivetrain in EM

Any Corvair engine can be swapped in. simply use the shrouds from the existing car. there are a few other parts but is rather simple. you might consider just swapping the engine as a first step.

Re: Fuel Tank Removal & Installation

The tank wasn't bad, but the hoses were. The next guy will find this to his liking. Don't be too pissed at me for doing this. Also, I did install a plug in the bottom of the tank. Whats the resistance value of the pot on the sending unit. Mine seems erratic and I'd like to replace just the resistor...

Re: gas tank sending unit

The tube coming out of the sending unit / delivery tube on our 65 is plugged solid with muck of some sort. We have a new sending unit - what is involved in getting the old one out? It appears the ring holding it in doesn't have threads, or does it? Maybe just pries out? Thanks for any advise. Jim S...

Re: 1963 Corvair Monza 900 Convertible

I believe it’s for the jack or jack tools 1961 Greenbrier, 1962 Rampside and 1964 Monza cab. ossieoz is right. it is to retain the jack & handle. there should be a hook mounted next to the spring near the steering box adjustment plastic plug cover. Sent from my SM-G930V using Corvair Forum mobi...

Re: Shut down when a/c is running

My 66 -140 hp A/c Corsa is giving me problems shutting off seemingly only when I run A/C. Whenever it does that I can no longer hear the electric fuel pump running. Let it sit a bit and it starts and runs OK. I can continue on without A/c when it restarts. Prior to restarting I can hear the fuel pu...
