Re: Door Panels Tips?
Old thread I know but Teresa Rolling of Rolling/Miller fame (this site) made me some door panels out of masonite. BEFORE covering, she put the nails in and then covered the panels, thereby eliminating the need for nail strips. I'm sure they're awesome but I havent' even taken them out of the box yet...

Re: Homemade fan bearing greaser
Radiator hose and a freeze plug also works pretty well (along with a zerk) Disconnect the accel linkage at the carbs and let it idle some after it's full of grease, especially if it's making that howling sound.... I bet a boat trailer buddy bearing would be good too. :0)

Re: Suicidal '66
Try whacking your carb bodies a few times with a piece of wood or whatever is handy. The floats in my '60 like to hang up since she doesn't get driven very often. Having said that it really doesn't take long to pull the carb tops off and clean everything out... I'm a big fan of using marine fu...

Re: Got my "new" Corvair home!
For the parts car, try some 50/50 ATF and acetone in the cylinders if the gas/oil mix doesn't doesnt' do the trick.... :0) To bottle feed one, I like to use a 3-6 gallon boat tank with a primer bulb hose sitting on the ground if using the fuel pump or set it on the roof to gravity feed the carbs dur...

Re: Exhaust extractors.
I put a set of used ones on my 140. They were a little to buzzy while cruising. I found a set of slim pipes/mufflers off a harley sportster at the flea market for 10 bucks. I then cut off the extractors about 5 inches past the last bend, turned the harley pipes around and slipped them on the extrac...

Re: Got Stripes???
I'm still kicking around running it down the front. If not then I could keep the trim... Might have to fab up the air dam and see how it looks at that point. It will be better when I can get close enough to the car to mess around with some masking tape and stuff. Anyone want to photshop some stuff f...
