Re: OPGI Catalog Delayed

Also note the OPGI unit is same unit sold at most parts store and while it fits the Corvair - note the thick screw hole area. The Corvair dimmer had a thinner mount area and the screws were short so they would not stick into the wheel well (you have to seal them). To install the aftermarket switch ...

Re: Any socket grounding tricks ?

I found that corrosion can build up between the steel and aluminum junction that will insulate one from the other. Simply twisting one while holding the other will break this corrosion barrier and the light will work like new.

Re: Steering wheel assembly diagram

Look on page 4-10 of your 1961 main book GM shop manual. There is a breakdown diagram there.

I don't have a 1961 main book GM shop manual.

turn signal wiring connector

I have a 1964 Monza that has the triangular shaped 6 pin connector mounted on the column for the turn signal. Every drawing I can find shows a 6 pin connector that has two rows of three pins. How do I determine which pin of the triangular connector corresponds to which pin shown on the drawing? Also...

Re: Steering wheel assembly diagram

The turn signal wiring switch is located on the column and operated by a steel wire that is moved up-and-down by the assembly at the steering wheel area.

I didn't use staples. A lot of trouble. I used aluminum pop rivets instead.

Automatic Choke Problem?

I have a '64 Monza that I am working on. On an 80 degree day the right side choke rod position holds the choke valve plate completely open. I understand that it should hold the choke valve closed. The automatic choke rod did not seem to be correct so I ordered a new one from Clarks. Still holds the ...

Rochester Carb Difference?

My '64 Monza has different Rochester carbs. One is a 7024024 and the other is a 7028005. I am told that the same rebuild kit fits both. I also find that the 7024024 is called a "high performance" carb, but can find nothing about the 7028005. :dontknow: Also, the Rochester carburetor manual...

Tail Light Wiring Connectors Are Different

I have a '64 Monza convertible. The wiring harness for the tail lights is not like the electrical schematic shows. First of all, the connector on the left side is round and has three wires while the connector on the right side is angled and has two wires. The schematic shows the left side wires to b...
