Re: American-Pi

Fender well covers. I have attempted to contact American-Pi with questions about the engine compartment fender well covers that are made by them and advertised on their web site. After sending a few e mails I haven’t gotten any response. Anyone know anything about this company or about this product...

Re: Battery box

For a LM, if you want to hide the battery and I don't blame you if you do, check out American Pi's engine compartment side covers. Super easy to install.

Re: Engine Case Upper Head Studs

G is Ground thread tap H3 is + 0.001 to 0.0015 pitch diameter. I am guessing they are 7/16"×20 threads that would use a 25/64" tap drill. When you buy the tap you can specify the GH3. I'm sure Clark's will recommend what you'll need when you buy the stud. Personally, I really like Timecert...

Silicon grease. Very slippery and not harmful to rubber.

Re: Center or drag link

Gotcha. Sounds "easy" enough. They take some force sometimes to fully seat. Without access to a vice I would probably find a way to drive them on with a socket perhaps and the top shock nut. Grease is your friend..... Bob Wilcox Paso Robles, CA 1966 Turbo Corsa Convertible 1966 140 Corsa ...

Re: Center or drag link

Alright, just ordered the shocks from Clark’s. Got bolts and “special bushings” too. Curious what’s special about them. The ones on the car now look like the normal bushings that come with the shocks in case I’m missing something. Of course the previous owner is not a very credible person in my boo...

Re: Center or drag link

LOL, don’t need that bushing after all. After digging into the car a little deeper the drivers side shock has no bushing on the bottom bolt. However, no one local has shocks. Not even summit. I guess I still need to get with Clark’s after all. Takes a bit of work to modify shocks that you can buy f...

Re: Center or drag link

If it is not bent then is it best to have new bushings put in? And if so does a machine shop do that or is there someone you all can recommend where to get one from. Clark’s looks like $230 but I read somewhere that they are out. Just one bushing at the pitman arm. Not too had to press out yourself...

Re: Correct transaxle fluid?

Bob - Yes synthetics seem to be an issue with POSI, although I don't know why. When I had a new 2000 Chevy Silverado truck I took it in for routine service and I was told my rear end lube would be changed at NO cost to a standard lubricant because there was an issue with the synthetic lube installe...

Re: Correct transaxle fluid?

Oh now you've done it -- LOL. No end to suggested fixes for this problem. First - a manual transaxle must use GL-4 NOT the common GL-5 or GL-4/5. GL-5 causes issues with the transmission synchros. Second - Once the clutch packs start to complain you need a lot of POSI additive with new lube to clea...

Re: What is this engine part?

Hi All, Post number one here :-) New to us 1965 Monza Coupe, 110 engine with 140 heads on it. Trying to identify this part circled in the pic, seems to be either an oil temp or pressure sender? There is a white pipe that has been cut, visible next to the fan - I believe this goes to an oil pressure...
