Re: 63 monza build
I rebuilt the carbs over the weekend and adjusted the accelerator pump by the book and also found the choke pull off is bad on one carb. I adjusted the two carbs by ear and it idles so much smoother and doesn't bog and die if you give it to much gas to quickly. after driving it to work for the last ...

Re: 63 monza build
Also I have lots of leaks, ill need to remove the tins and see where from. But I checked the diff fluid and it was full of atf. So I drained and filled with 80-90 and after I drove it a bit it was just running out of the passenger axle shaft seal. The fluid didn't smell like atf any more but still l...

Re: 63 monza build
So I actually got the car out today and drove around. It doesn't idle well in gear and when you go to take off you really have to ease into it or it dies. After checking timing and plugs, I found 135 were a bit on the rich side, the adjustment on that carb didn't effect the running of the engine at ...

Re: 63 monza build
At the edge of the headliner near the top of the door there is no trim piece, so I'm not sure where to glue it. Looks like I'll stretch it to the pinch weld and glue there then trim and get something to cover the pinch weld at the door opening in the photo. Let me know what you guys think. Also I'd ...

Re: 63 monza build
so over the weekend I got some more work done, weather stripping and the vent windows installed. I started working on some new door panels from scratch. I forgot to get pictures of the process so when I make them for the rear I'll take some pictures. But I did do a better job on getting pictures of ...

My plan for the car originally was to be in the car cheap fix it up and flip it. Which is still my main plan, in the mean time I plan to enjoy workin...

Hello from KC MO
I just wanted to say hi, as I am a first time corvair owner at 29 years old. I work as a full time mechanic, mostly working on modern vehicles with the occasional classic hot rods and ls swaps. I've been interested in a corvair for a while and back before Christmas I decided to finally purchase one....
