Low Band Adjustment Access Panel
Hey guys. I need some help from the 60/61 owners. I need to adjust my low band on my 63 PG, I was reading in the shop manual that there was an access panel to do this on 60 and 61 cars but was eliminated for 62. I really need a picture of exactly where this is. Dropping the trans is out of the quest...

Gas Heater Repair Parts Needed
Hey all,I've been looking around at a few known Corvair related vendors, Clarks is WAY out of my budget. I NEED some gas heater burner parts, the plunger rubber and the rubber piece behind the nozzle, solenoid gasket too. A thermostat and micro switch would be awesome too. If you have them or know o...

PG problem
New problem, something I know VERY little about. 63, 80hp, PG, feels like trans is slipping, starting from a stop the engine needs to wind up quite a bit for it to go, once moving, everything is fine, unless I try to accelerate enough that it down shifts, then it winds up before it goes again. Ideas...

Microswitch resistance? Sorry, that's a little beyond me. Also, what microswitch?
Thermostat is a little rusty but it was last year and it worked fine.

Re: Back to the gas heater...
Weirdly, it just started kinda working today while I was driving. It wasn't has hot as it could be and it to a long time while cycling to get back to blowing hot, until it just stopped again. I'm thinking maybe a bad solenoid, again. I'd love to know more details of how you bench tested. I have enou...

Back to the gas heater...
Alternator issues are solved, moving on... I cant seem to get it to fire, Ive got voltage at the fuse panel, but inadequate volatage at the harness plug at the top of the heater case. I also am getting NO voltage to the solenoid. Ive tried a few relays, nothing changes. Where/how am I losing voltage...

Re: Alternator Issues
If the voltage hits 14 volts, when the field is energized manually, that tells us the voltage regulator is not telling the alternator to work. If the alternator does not produce about 14 volts when energized, faulty alternator. How do I energize the field manually? Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Cor...

Re: Gas heater solenoid/valve question.
Thanks... I think it might be an unrelated alternator issue... see recent post :(
Also I now have yet another new-to-me gas heater to play with once i figure out my alternator issue.

Alternator Issues
First, what I'm working with: 63 700 sedan, with EXTERNAL voltage regulator and alternator, like a 65. History: I did the conversion last spring, everything's been good until recently, I had an ugly oil leak from the oil pressure sending unit, got oil everywhere, and I'm assuming IN the alternator. ...

Gas heater solenoid/valve question.
I'm rebuilding the burner in my gas heater. I'm bench testing for proper valve operation but need to know when 12v is applied to the solenoid, does that open or close the gas valve?

Re: How to fix a sticky accelerator petal? Please help
I just did this a couple weeks ago. It's daily easy, and as posted most likely at the pedal. Take the tunnel cover off and inspect all pivots, then disconnect the linkage at the pedal and try moving it by hand. You will find the stuck part that way. Re: Diagnosis complete, but still need help.
I separated the u joint, turned the half on the diff, no grinding noise, turned the axle, grinding noise. So there it is, the wheel bearing. But I can still not separate axle from brake backing plate. I've taken off the 4 retaining nuts, and I can pull the whole assembly off the control arm, but tha...
