Re: LM drive train removal

End? Lots of replacement used parts abound in the US. Most parts are NOT 140 specific (unless you need a numbers matching block for a Corsa with AC) :rolling: I bet there are old Corsa members around who could supply what you needed. Might not be current members. We had a high of like 8000 members ...

Re: Lakewood vs Wagon interchangeability

What is this Lakewood vs wagon talk? The Lakewood is the 1961 advertising name for the Corvair wagon. No Monza trim was available that year. A 1961 Lakewood came in 500 or 700 series trim. Monza trim on a wagon came in 1962, and the Lakewood name was not used in 1962, along with the 500 ...

Re: Manual to Automatic

No such thing as an FC engine with air conditioning. :tu: Putting a PG belhousing on an engine is real easy. Same as changing the crankshaft seal. Various methods can make removing the pilot bushing an easy job. [\color] Just checked junkyard primer. ZG is car with air conditioning and Power...

I should go look at the one in my 1991 S-10 for a comparison.

AL, I know you know what a short is, and you were just reporting what was told to you.

And, this is a case where if two turn signal wires were shorted together the fuse would not blow, just too many lights would come on at once.

Re: Candidates for CORSA Director

Question? Under Eastern Division it says to vote for two. If a ballot is received with only ONE box checked for Eastern Division, is the ballot thrown out? I know several other clubs in which this happens!!!!!!!! I will say those clubs say "Must vote for two (or five, whatever)". This bal...

Re: CORVAIR COMBINED WIRING SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS

So true Craig!!!!!!!! I'm always correcting people, and they look at me like I have two heads, when the conversation is similar to: A lamp blinks and "hey that lamp has a short" is spoken. "No, I reply, it has an open." "Hunh?" is the response. Oh well, they were not a...

Re: Front Air Grill

Out here in the east where we have trees (Oak, Pine, Beech, etc etc), many of us glue the black nylon screen under the front air intake. Really helps a lot to keep the leaves out. The leaves getting into a pocket above the top hinges is a severe rust problem for the A pillar. Black Nylon Screen fro...

Re: Changing fuel guage float

If sender is grounded, then when the wire from the gauge to the tank sender is removed the gauge should go to full. No need for the sender to be grounded for this test! An open in a circuit is an open in the circuit, doesn't matter if the open is from the sender to ground or the sender to the gauge...

Re: Our 1960 Monza Coupe

A friend has a '63 with an aluminum '60 three speed installed. The crossmember looked "normal" for an early three speed to me. I tried to sell him a four speed with crossmember, etc., but he liked the odd aluminum three speed. He now lives in Florida if anyone sees an aluminum three speed...

Re: Which spark plug wires?

I see California Corvairs says they have the right "boots", like I always did. Seth set me straight, those rubber things so important to keep the air inside the upper shroud are seals! The boots are the rubber pieces that go onto the wire ends (different shape) and the seals go onto...
