Weld turbo housing
Hi My second turbo center housing is cracked so I'm asking you guys what you think of welding the bearing to the Center housing instead of the snap ring? Only issue I see is next service but then I can grind/mill it out. IMG_20190826_194903.jpeg Sent from my CLT-L29 using Corvair Forum mobile app

Turbo question?
Hi, my turbo was disassembled when I bought the car and now it's time to make it run again, But when I assembled it yesterday I thought the wheels was hard to spin and I found that the heat shield was in contact with the exhaust wheel and not push all the way back by the exhaust housing. Then I reme...

Re: Turbo issues..
I was thinking the same way before I saw that the housing was cracked on the other side were the snap ring will sit. So it will go into the garbage bag..

Re: 150 Turbo or 180 Turbo
Many thanks for your inputs. I think I build a correct EM engine except for the later turbocharger. I will limit the boost with a wastegate. Meanwhile I can learn and build a 164 Turbo with the right parts. I'm also building a prostreet 61 bubbletop so the Corvair will be my daily car. And here in S...

Turbo issues..
Hi, was going through my turbo today and stumbled upon this (see pic). The heat shield interfaces with the center section becouse of a "lip" around the hole and I can't see other housings having that. Or I'm I missing something? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161228/f04ea8e1db654c99d26f...

Re: 150 Turbo or 180 Turbo
We discussed late case, late 8409 crank with early cylinders, pistons, rods and heads. Anyone that running that combo with turbo? I read that 80hp and 150 heads have the same cc and will do the same job on my turbo motor, is that true?

150 Turbo or 180 Turbo
Hi all. I have too many motors and parts for my -65 Corsa so I can´t determine which to use. unfortunately I don´t have the right RL 180 Turbo engine so What do you think will be the best combo for my Turbo build? I have 4 sets of unused EM barrels and pistons, many cams incl. ISKY cams. Any benefit...
